Ms. Phyllis Shealey was born on March 26, 1947 to the parentage of the late Lonnie B. (Sr.) Shealey and the late Mattie Bandy Shealey. On Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at East Alabama Medical Center, Opelika, AL, God called another one of his children home and she departed this life to go to a place of eternal peace.

Phyllis as she was known to everyone, was a product of the West Point Public School System, where she was a member of the Harrison High Class of 1966. She was an avid cook and loved her family and friends. She was a former employee of Roger’s Barbeque in West Point until her retirement.

Phyllis accepted Christ as her lord and Savior at an early age and united with Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church in West Point, GA under the leadership of Rev. Beaton. She was a present member of the Keeney Memorial United Methodist Church Usher Board and Altar Guild.

Phyllis was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt to many. She had many friends who loved dearly and will miss her smiling face.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Will Shealey and a sister, Mary L. Bandy Ms. Phyllis Shealey leaves to cherish her memories to a loving and devoted daughter Tammy Shealey; grandchildren, Stantavious (Nookie) Shealey and La’Quarious (Quon) Shealey; her great grandchild, Kylen Shealey; brothers, Lonnie B. Shealey (Jr.), Zellas Shealey, Johnny (Janice) Bandy, and Benjamin Bandy;sisters, Katie (Bennie) Williams, Myrtis (Henry) Goss, and Elaine (Alan) Young; sister-in-law, Mary Shealey; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; lifelong best friends, Barbara Traylor, Barbara Broughton, and Willie Mae Flowers.
