Paul, I am saddened to hear of your family's loss of Preston. Although I never met your brother, your obituary, pictures and memories posted by others show me that he was a great man who was well-liked by those who knew him. May his fond memories live on in your heart and strengthen the gratitude for the blessings bestowed upon you and your family.

I still can't believe that I had to attend a funeral service for my bud yesterday. It wasn't so long ago that you were my sweet little boy that I use to care for. I will always remember your smile, your funny laugh and your Blues Brothers interpretation! There will never be another like you, Preston. I will forever love you in a very special way, and you will always have a big piece of my heart.

We remember lots of good times from the high school days with Preston. Since both of us moved away years after, we never had the privilege of continuing that friendship. Reading all these FB post over the last few days, tells us just how much he was loved & will be missed. Our condolences.  Sending prayers for both family & friends.

Its unimaginable to me to think he is no longer here with us on the other side of the country, living his life, which always comforted me. They had to break the mold when he was born and there will never be another like him. Preston had such tenacity and a vibrant invigorating soul like no other and he certainly knew how to live and love each day as if it were his last..he will be forever remembered for many wonderful attributes and anyone who was lucky enough to have him shine in their life for one day will never forget those precious moments. Preston made days seem like seconds and life flew by throughout the many years I got to spend with him. Why did he have to leave? He will forever be in my heart and loved. A damn good man and American!!

We had some great times and some bad. I enjoyed every moment of our 5 1/2 years together. I'll miss your great smile, those nice blue eyes and how you made me laugh. You were a smart, intelligent man that loved his country. You'll never be forgotten. I'll always love you, honey. Silvie will miss you too. She will be well taken care of. I'm happy your at peace now. I'll see you again someday.

Preston Westly Ojala, age 48, of Vernon, Connecticut passed away peacefully on January 25, 2020. Preston was a graduate of Rockville High School and the University of Connecticut School of Engineering. Preston served his country in the U.S. Army, and continued his military service in the Army Reserves, where he received his commission as a 2nd lieutenant. He was also a member of the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, where he was able to travel all over the world. Preston was one of the most patriotic people you could ever meet, his love for his country was unparalleled. Preston loved fixing things and working on cars, not just any cars but old Chryslers. He was predeceased by his mother Priscilla Ojala. He is survived by his father Paul Ojala Sr. of Vernon, CT; his brother Paul Ojala Jr. and his wife Jennifer Ojala, and his niece and nephew Sophia and Nate Ojala, all of Coventry, CT. He also survived by his great aunt and godmother Barbara Mracek of Hamburg, NJ. He also leaves behind his beloved dog Sylvie and many great friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Faith Tabernacle Church in Manchester, CT. A wake will take place from 12:30-1:30 and a service to follow. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pathfinders Club, 102 Norman St. Manchester, CT, 06040.
