Coffee Milkshakes
I have one very distinct memory of being at Yiayia and Papou Berris's house when I was around 6 years old. Papou and Yiayia were in the kitchen, and the sun was shining in through the kitchen window. They were talking and laughing, and Papou was making coffee milkshakes for everyone. I was holding on to the edge of the counter, right next to the corner where Yiayia had taped up a towel to pad the corner. Yiayia was always so focused on protecting children and making sure that they were comfortable and safe, and so she always padded sharp corners in her house.
What a moment of pure contentment. Love, laughter, sunshine, and security (not to mention coffee milkshakes). I love my Yiayia and Papou. May their memories be eternal.
