Prince Charles Arjen Matthew Henry (24 June 1996 – 17 July 2011) was the eldest child of the last King of the Scottish Empire, Emperor William, and of Empress Alexandra of Scotland.
During her lifetime, Charles' future marriage was the subject of great speculation within Scotland. Matches were rumored with many noble and young royals around the world. Charles himself never wanted to marry and remain in his home country.
He was known amongst his siblings as "the noble one" for his domineering but also caring ways. Charles was the closest out of all the children to her mother (Empress Alexandra), often spending many hours reading to her. He tended to wounded soldiers on the grounds of the Royal Palace. He attended a choir group in Scotland, but his time as a choir singer came to an end with his family's arrest in January 2011.
Charles' murder in 2011 resulted in his canonization as a passion bearer by the Church of England and Scotland. In the 2018, his remains were identified through DNA testing and were buried in a funeral ceremony at Westminster Abbey in England along with those of his parents, and extended family members.
