"Death is human destiny no doubt. But, to the far reaching extent with which it took you away when we needed you the most not only as students but also as a human race qualifies to be a menace of our lifetime. We forever and always remain to be at a loss we will never recover."

It is with deep shock and incredibility that I have learnt of the sudden demise of my Cousin Dr. Professor Josepph Omuke Ojiambo.
In early seventies, Joseph helped strongly build the then Undugu Youth Centeres and the Undugu Beat'75, of which I was general Secretay in Kariobangi. We visited each other abroad both in France and Lafbourough, UK. He has helped me from this end assist project in Budalangi, Bunyala Location, Busia South.
Dr. Professor Joseph Oumke Ojiambo, a wonderful person, ever ready to help, advise accurately, sincerely with devotion to any person. Always had time for others. He had a fine belief in sharing. Both in euocumenic groups such as Upendo wa Mungu group (Nairobi) and Taizé Community (France).
I know whatever words I can express here are not enough to wind up in one word the person he was. I can only say : THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR EARTHLY CONTRIBUTION? DR. PROFESSOR JOSEPH OMUKE OJIAMBO;
May His Almighty God candidly receive you in His Kingdom and give you eternal rest. AMEN;

Dr; Arnold Juma Makhondo OUMA.

Prof. Ojiambo’s persona and leadership style inspired all those who interacted with him. That spirit will live on forever. I knew him on a personal level because he played a critical role in establishing collaborative linkage between UoK and my university (Missouri State University, USA). Early this year, Prof. Ojiambo gave a speech during the launching of UoK’s short courses at Sinendet Plaza, Kericho (https://picasaweb.google.com/108971928038413308800/LaunchingOfShortCoursesAtTheUniversityOfKabianga?authuser=0&authkey=Gv1sRgCJ3n4P3voaDwAw&feat=directlink).
It is our prayer that God provides comfort, courage, and peace to Prof. Ojiambo’s family, relatives, and friends.

Death has been with us since the beginning of man. Despite its ubiquitous nature and character, no man ever born can fathom the passing on of a loved one, a relative or a friend. Prof. Ojiambo's death caused me so much pain. I lost a friend, a great friend that played an instrumental role in my campus and post-campus journey. We enjoyed warm personal connections. I am sad and hollow. Go in peace, Prof.
