A Tribute to Sir Prof. Bedford A. Fubara

He was educated.
He loved education.
He was very liberal with education.
I remember teaching his wife Dr. Mrs. Angela Fubara twice at the Rivers State College of Education. Port Harcourt- in the English Department at the N.E.C Level, and Education department at the degree level

She did not stop there; with his encouragement, She went on to do a master’s degree and also a doctorate degree. He did not see her as an item that was only useful in the kitchen and bedrooms of the house. As he made efforts to improve himself he also encouraged her to do the same.

Their children were not left behind. He made sure that they were all properly educated in the profession or discipline they chose to engage in always striving by dint of hard work and discipline to get to the top.

He gave service where ever he saw the need to do so in the church, in his university where he lectured in the family (nuclear and extended). He was indeed a life well lived and well spent.
May his soul rest in peace
