A phone call, on the morning of Wednesday 13 January 2021 broke the news of your demise. That was a nightmare, and still is, because we last exchanged greetings barely 24 hours earlier. It is a cherished privilege to have worked with you. Adieu Professor!

Prof Adegoke was an outstanding lecturer that connected with his students. He had a heart of service. He knew us with our names, middle names and matric numbers, he was so exceptionally intelligent, but had no airs around him. A very humble man.
He has gone home to rest, the world has lost a great icon and heaven has gained a saint.
I pray God grants his family, friends and students the fortitude to bear this loss in Jesus name. Amen.

The Exit of a Rare Gem...

It was just a phone call that connected us together in 2018, when I sought your consent to be the guest speaker at LAUTECH Nanotechnology Conference (LAUTECH NANO 2018). You quickly agreed to the request and on October 24, 2018, you delivered a thought-provoking lecture "Nanomaterials Research: A Wonderful World of Great Opportunities in Africa" at the opening ceremony. The lecture was well received by the audience.

Since then, we have exchanged ideas and correspondences on Nanotechnology research...... It was a rude shock to hear about your death on 14/01/2021. Undoubtedly, this is a great loss to the Nanotechnology family in Nigeria and academia in general. Rest on Prof. Adegoke. May your soul rest in perfect peace.

Prof. Agbaje Lateef
On behalf of LAUTECH Nanotechnology Research Group (NANO+), LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Nigeria.

Professor Adegoke was the closest man to perfection I have come across in all my years. He knew so much, yet was he humble. It’s amazing how one man had a personal connection with every single student he taught. An outstanding human being in every ramification.
His works go before him and we know he is in heaven reigning with Christ. May God continue to comfort the family and friends he left behind, and may his truely gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen

Never thought I'll be writing this so soon. I would miss your early morning classes, your broad smiles, your very important life lessons you give us during lectures, your so much comprehensive lectures which covers most if not all of Pharmaceutical analysis, the oral assignments, the practical examples and so much more. How I wish I could "KEEP VIBRATING". The life lessons which sometimes are your personal stories still serve as motivation to me. A very busy scholar who would always find time for his students. YOU CAME, YOU SAW AND YOU CONQUERED. Rest on "DEAR FRIEND" in the bosom of our LORD.

I feel pained, he was a good man , quite and simple; to bad you left so early but our consolation is that with your gentleness you are with Christ.

Rest on.....

“Hello friends” that was how you refer to us; your humility is out of this world; your listening ear is amazing. You were so cool and never tired of making us understand PharmChem. We were amazed at your intelligence. We have lost a rare gem; but your impact lives on. Rest on prof.

Your passing came as a shock Prof. You were such a gentle and intelligent soul, so humble and unassuming. You were easily approachable and no doubt a role model indeed.
Death has taken one of the finest in our world again. Lord have mercy.
I pray the Lord comfort his family, the department of pharmacy UI, the entire UI community and all his loved ones.

RIP prof.

The news of your passing came as a huge shock to me. Somewhere in my head now I am seeing a mental picture of your smiling face. You were so humble, so kind and super intelligent. You made pharmaceutical chemistry a lot easier for me. I remember in 200l you went out of your way to brush us up on anatomy and other courses. We will take solace in the knowledge that you have gone to be with your maker. Rest in peace Prof Adegoke.

Professor Adegoke was one lecturer we all felt comfortable with. Not judgemental, always willing to listen. He dealt with everyone on their level. He would call out your middle name, matric number, even recognize your voice while writing and facing the board! He's one lecturer you will meet on the faculty corridor and you wouldn't think of turning off or taking another route. You actually want to see his shy smile. He did his job diligently and made Structure-Activity-Relationship very simple. He will be greatly missed. Rest on Prof Adegoke!

Professor Adegoke (he was still Mr. Adegoke during my undergraduate years) was a great teacher at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, where he taught Pharmaceutical Chemistry. A very brilliant and intelligent lecturer, introverted but very involved in all his students, knowing us just not by the first name but middle names and even our matric numbers! He loved the Lord and served Him till the very end. Continue to rest in peace sir, till we meet on the resurrection morning.
