Saints are not perfect persons. They became saints not because of their own ability but because they willed to be one for the love of God and family, and relied on Gods grace to do His will. Such was my Papa Quer. To me he is my saint.

One day, when I was in high school, my Papa gave me a book to read. I did not really pay attention until I was really having issues in one of my oratorical competitions. We should speak only when we have a good message to deliver. It is not what but how we speak that really matters. 
The book is Dale Carnegie's 'How to Win Friends and Influence People". Ever since it became my favorite and was always beside my Bible.
Two things I learned from my Papa which complimented the book's recommendation. My Papa spent time with his friends and those he influenced. And most importantly, he allowed himself to be vulnerable to them. So to be really a friend he taught me to spend time and be a true person even if you expose your vulnerability to your friends. That is what friendship and a true relationship is all about. To deliberately be influential is somewhat being manipulative and counter friendly. Papa taught to be just a real friend. Friends don’t do things with strings attached. He reminded me to be friendly but to not expect to be friends with everybody. A good friendship is a two way street. Relationships are like that.
Rest in peace, Papa.

It would have been 8 years by 2022 since my Dad passed away. Had he been around today he would be encouraging everyone to persevere through all the uncertainties.  I light a candle today as a reminder of what he stood for; hopeful, persevering and trusting in the end, with God's grace, all will be fine. Thanks again, Papa Quer.

Thank you Lolo Papa for building a beautiful family that I can proudly say that I am a part of. You have built this family with a strong foundation filled with good values. I wish that someday, when I build my own family, I can also do the same. Thinking of you and missing you. Love you, Lolo. ❤️

May I thank my wife Owen and daughter Maja who are helping me put together this memorial for my Dad. May I also thank all those who were part of his life and who remembers him in their prayers. May this token of remembrance bring forward his legacy so that he continue to live in our hearts and remember what he stood for - dedication and faithful service to his family and friends.
