Rachel Smith Stone, 80, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Duke Regional Hospital in Durham.
Rachel was a lifetime resident of Granville County and was the daughter of the late David Lee and Pearl Smith Patterson. She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of First Baptist Church of Butner. Rachel retired from John Umstead Hospital after thirty-one years of service.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church of Butner by Pastor Charlie Bryan. Burial will follow the service at Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
Surviving is her husband, Bobby J. Stone, a daughter, Glenda S. Stephenson (Rickey) of Butner, a sister, Mozelle Ellis of Bahama, two granddaughters, Casey and Kelly Stephenson and a niece, Tammy Gallagher. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Glenn Smith, a sister, Minnie Patterson and a brother, Clarence Patterson.
Visitation will be held Monday evening July 17, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor and at other times at the home of her daughter.
