His Life

Mr. Ralph Davidson was born July 21, 1945 in Troup County, GA to the late Jimmie and LouL Zachry. He departed this life on Monday May 4, 2015 at his residence. “ Dooley” ,as he is known by friends in Georgia, was a product of Harrison High School, West Point, GA. He was retired from West Point Stevens as a System Analysts with over 30 years of service.


He confessed Christ and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point, GA under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Willie T. Edmonson. At Bethlehem, he was a member of the male choir and later was elected chairman of the finance committee, a position he took great pride in. Ralph, also, enjoyed going with the seniors of the church on their yearly outings. Ralph loved his church and pastor and tried to do whatever was asked of him.


Ralph served on the West Point City’s planning committee and was president of the West Point Housing Authority Board. Ralph served a number of years in the United States Army as an Honor Guard in Washington, D.C.


He is preceded in death by 2 sisters Shirley Davis and Rudene Barber.


He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted wife of nearly 40 , Mary Alice Davidson, West Point, GA.; four children, Maurice Davidson, Silver Spring, MD.; Montrell Davidson, Kimberly Jones, West Point, GA; Rodney Davidson, LaGrange, GA; three grand children , Cameron Jones, Minot, ND; Matia Wright, West Point, GA; Kameron Martin, Carrollton, GA ; 2 sisters, Deloris Watkins and Teresa Ealy, Detroit, MI.; 2 brothers Fred (Janice) Davidson, LaGrange, GA.; Roy (Jehanna) Davidson, West Point, GA.; a mother-in-law, Emma Kate Elie, Lanett, AL.; four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, Special cousins, Isaac “Pete” Hubbard and Alma Jean Williams, Lithonia, GA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends; special friend ,he grew up with, Johnny Hill and his golfing buddies and the Bethlehem Church Family.
