RIP Randy. My sincere condolences to Randy's friends and family. Though our family didn't know Randy personally, he came to our door one day and offered his roofing services. We were in need of a roof and asked him to provide a quote for us. He wasn't the most expensive, nor the least expensive, but he was the most professional of all companies. Yesterday, I referred Randy's name and number to a friend who needed roofing and she called back to say the number was not in service. I checked the website and saw the obituary.

He was a very friendly person, seemed honest and professional. I'm sure he has a special spot in heaven and is watching upon all those who loved him. RIP.

To Randy my dearest son,
I hope you know how much your Dad and I loved you. The memorial to celebrate your life will be a lasting memory for me. Did you know how many people really loved you and what happiness you brought to their lives? Do me a favour and find Robin Williams and when I join you in years to come you can do a comedy routine for me. I hope you were at the memorial on Friday, someone said you were. I will thank everyone for making your life have meaning to those who were not aware of your inner beauty.
My love always,
Mom

Randy - I only just found out today of your passing after so many unanswered texts - I am devastated. I have fond memories from when you stayed at my home last year -- watching you whip up gourmet meals for us after work, talking about our sons and how important they are in our lives. We shared so much in common together. I will miss you - God-speed my friend & RIP.

Randy, a piece of you lives on in your son Evan!
I believe it is one of life's greatest gifts to give!
I know you loved him dearly and that you will be watching over him from the front row of Heaven's theatre!

You will be happy to know that Evan has your guitar thanks to some wonderful friends who got it back :D
Listen for him....

We wish you eternal peace, laughter & joy!

How sweetly sing the angels, happy joyous, free,
Leaving earthly shadows for the Light that called to thee.
Your inner essence longed for serenity & Grace,
With eternal joy and comfort, may you gently rest in peace.

Randy, the love, lessons and fun you shared on this earth will continue to radiate through the many people whose lives you touched. I am truly grateful that you were a part of my journey. You will be forever missed. (Make sure Jeanne is sharing the brownies up there. {:-))
Special thoughts & prayers to Randy's family.
With heartfelt condolences,

RIP - Love you Randy. It has been years since I seen you, but it feels like just yesterday I saw you. Say hi to Granddad and give him a big kiss and hug from me.

I remember your big smile and how happy you were when you sung and played your guitar for us.

I remember when I was a teenager you gave me my first Aerosmith cassette tape when we visited you in Ontario. I still remember how upset Paul was that I got it and he got a different band. I never knew who Aerosmith was but kept it just because Paul wanted it. To this day I love Aerosmith.

Your battle is over and now the pain is gone forever.

Cousins forever ....

Love Fawn

I didn't know Randy very long but one of my best friend Andrew Leonard (who was good friends with him for 20 years) told me lots of good times and memories that they shared together. Andrew got me to help Randy with a few roofing jobs and I got to know him. He was really good to me. I can see why they've been friends so long. When I worked with him he was always working hard and joking with me. One time I had to work with him on my birthday and he was awesome enough to go out and buy me a Montreal Canadiens touque for my birthday even though he would bug me about the Habs. Just from that I knew he had a big heart and would do anything for someone if he could. Randy you'll be missed. R.I.P my friend

Hey Randy, we've got some unfinished business. A few rivers to kayak and a few trails to ride. I'll see you on the other side.

My dear friend Randy....I'm sad that I will never hear you laugh again....You had a contagious laugh!
I'm grateful for the opportunities to share so many laughs with you - thank you for your friendship.

I remember the night Tyler mentioned in his note about us laughing historically in the parking lot after dinner... one of my many favorite memories.

Always willing to lend a helping hand, I remember that our little group of friends decided to go for sushi dinner and the roads were bad so he picked up Jeanne B. in his truck and I was impressed as I watch him help this - little old 5" nothing lady - get into his truck...it was hilarious and sweet :-)

He helped me move 3 times in one year, and never complained or questioned my circumstance. He never judged me.
When you were living in the "light" you were so passionate about life... for music, the great outdoors but most of all your greatest accomplishment - your son Evan. The pride on your face when we spoke of Evan was obvious.

Sometimes in life, events occur that fracture the very foundation on which we stand. Our life, as we have known it, is forever changed and we find ourselves in an unexpected struggle, first just to survive and then to move forward.  Randy I'm so sorry that your darkness put out your light and you could never really move forward.

I will miss my friend. I hope you have found peace from your pain.

Evan, my heart goes out to you and your family during this difficult time.

Randy, I heard today that U had left our world! Thank U for your friendship & kindness ! When I became a part of The Valley Group, I was scared & very unsure of myself but U were there to cheer me on & help me regain my self esteem! I'll treasure U taking the time to listen when U could have been off having fun! U helped me laugh again & to enjoy the moment! I've since tried to pass these things on to others that had to walk our difficult path; the lesson wasn't lost ! U brought Sunshine & Kindness wherever U went! U will always be with us! Your Hugs were the best & made everything better! Shine Bright!

Dearest Randy, Your struggles are over; the light is warm and divine. We earthlings will miss you - your music and your laughter. Another friend taken far too soon from us. I remember a wonderful afternoon spent at Starbucks hearing you play and admiring your talent. What else can we do but carry on and be ever grateful for the time we DID have with you.
My heart and prayers go out to your family.

Oh Randy...he was loved by so many people; he shared his true kindness and warm-loving nature with all of us.
Three things will last forever -- Faith, Hope, and Love -- and the greatest of these is LOVE.
Having Faith + Hope can only show themselves by the way of love...and God is pure Love.
Randy is safe with God now to enjoy the abundance of love for eternity.
We will see you in heaven, Randy. <3 <3 <3

Randy, my friend, I will miss our great discussions over coffee when we shared good times and bad and truly helped each other on our journeys.

In the sorrow of your passing, I find comfort in the Prayer of St. Francis:
"For it is by self-forgetting that one finds. It is by forgiving that one is
forgiven. It is by dying that one awakens to Eternal Life." May this part of your journey be filled with love, joy and freedom.

My deepest sympathy to your son, Evan, your Mom and all your family and to everyone who shared your love and your life.

~God's Garden~
God looked around his garden,
And He found an empty place,
And then He looked down upon the earth
And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you,
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful,
He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,
He knew that you were in pain,
He knew that you would never,
Get well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered "Peace be thine".

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

Songbird

For you, there'll be no more crying,
For you, the sun will be shining,

And the songbirds are singing,
Like they know the score,

And I wish you all the love in the world,
But most of all, I wish it from myself.

And the songbirds keep singing,
Like they know the score,

Like never before, like never before.

Thank you for teaching me what forgiveness is.
I was blessed having you in my life.
I’ll miss you like crazy. You are always in my heart.
I’ll take good care of Kali and love her forever.

I shared some great times with Randy. We shared some really good wholesome laughs together and celebrated some wonderful milestones along our respected journeys. He was always up for adventure and had such a soulful and charismatic way about him. He was a great musician and we all enjoyed heading down to the local Starbucks or Second Cup to watch him illuminate the crowd with his voice and guitar. Randy took me my on my first canoe ride down on the lake down in Port Credit one summer, it was amazing! The fondest memory of my friend Randy was back in 2009. I had just started my journey in recovery. A few of us, including Randy, went out one night after a meeting to an Italian restaurant in Streetsville, Mississauga. After a great big meal we stood in the parking lot for 2 hours straight under a couple lot lights, laughing hysterically, joking around, and enjoying some old war stories. It was the first time in a long time for me to experience such laughter and love and it was in large part to Randy's sense of humor and welcoming spirit, it gave me hope about my new found sobriety...Love you brother. Prayers are with you. Rest peacefully. Your friend, your brother. Always...
Evan, my thoughts, prayers and love is with you tonight. Stay strong, you're an awesome young, intelligent man on a great path. Keep your head up and know that you have a lot of people that love you and care about you and your success.

I'm from St. John's and I'll forever remember Randy as east-coast Irish; because Randy was a brilliant, hardworking, and talented man who cared about his family and loved one's with his all.

Being Invited to stay out with the boys too much was because all who got to know Randy, loved him back just the same. Alcohol is a terrible thing in that it often finds the best and brightest stars in the sky, often in their earliest years, and pulls them down far too early. My Dad was the same, look him up in heaven Randy; and I'll look forward to seeing you both again when its my turn in 50 years or so God willing.

Wish you were still here.

Randy was such a talented man! He was quite the entertainer whether it was with his guitar and singing or telling jokes and doing his funny accents and impressions! He always made us laugh! And HIS laugh, wow, is something I will never forget along with his great smile! I have so many great memories of Randy....just last year he and I had a "sing along" as I like to call it, where we would each pick a song on Youtube and then sing our hearts out. Years ago I can remember him doing "Living on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi at Karaoke, and boy did the crowd go wild!

It wasn't long ago that Randy was over hanging out with us on our back deck...I'm getting choked up....Randy will truly be missed...I will always have very fond memories of him. Rest in Peace Randy.... Thank you for all the great memories!

Dear Randy, at times so vibrant and full of life. Biking, kayaking, hiking, playing hockey, guitar, golfing or just hanging out and talking about keeping it real. You touched a lot of people my friend - more than you'll ever realize. I am so sorry I was not able to shed more light into the terrible blackness you must have experienced.

But at least now, thankfully you are able to fully give up fighting anything or anyone.

Rest now. In peace. I will never forget our times together.
