Our Association with Shri R. S. Rathee has been almost since we shifted to DLF Phase 2, when he used to be our neighbour in our nearby row at K-17. Later on when he was given the charge of being Estate Manager for Phase -2, he always was very prompt to act upon. Subsequent associations grew as he joined the DLF QE RWA, and as President of the QERWA, he used to take the residents related issues to the various concerned authorities. I had the previlage to accompany him to Chandigarh, Panchkula, and even at the Nirvachan Bhawan, New Delhi. He had always been very humble, down to earth person, with no ego. Even if his phone was busy, he used to contact himself personally at the earliest opportunity. With his departure, not only the DLF, but the whole of Gurugram, has lost a gem. It would be difficult to find a person like him, who had various issues, and data on his finger tips. HUM TUMHE BHOOL NA PAYENGE.

Some vaccumes can never be filled we will miss you Rathi Uncle

We shifted in Dlf phase 2 in 1992.Although I was very young at that time but I knew him as a family friend as my father Madhusudan Sharma and he worked collectively for DLF welfare. In 2019 when I lost my father he came forward as a father figure to me with all his guidance and support.Only few years back I got to converse with him much such a polite and inspiring soul he was.Great work and changes which he has brought since he acquired the Councillor position is very much visible to all.Good deeds done are always remembered. Its a big loss.

Rathee Ji, was a helping, very forthcoming and an active person. He made a difference in everyone’s life around him. He was always ready with a sympathetic ear if someone needed any help. My dad had interacted with him earlier but I never even knew what mcg and all are useful for untill I came in contact with Rathee Ji. The way he did his work and involved everyone was commendable. He took a lot of steps to be approachable to his ward residents. Even his team respected him a lot. He will be missed. residents and friends from DLF2 will always remember him. Aggarwal L block

A man who understood aspects like a healthy community .
Had interacted with him directly for Dengue breeding grounds.
For Screening tests for Geriatric age group residents.
And for better Covid protocols.

For each of them not only did he listen patiently we made sure that there was action started on each of them and even reverted back
Was a true warrior and a lovely human being !

No matter what problem we had Rathi Jee was always a pillar of support to all families residing in DLF without any selfish motive . He always had a smile on his face which was itself a great motivation for people around him. His absence will never be filled but he will always live in our hearts . RIP SIR

The passing of Mr. Rathee has been extremely sad. So untimely. Just recently his both parents passed due to Covid. What a torrid time for the family. God bless his Soul to attain sadgathi and give strength to his family to bear their loss. Om Shanti.

I had the opportunity to know him for a long time. Right from the time when he was an employee of DLF. He actually handed over possession of our house in DLF City. He was a humble and noble soul who was ready to help everyone. No wonder he was able to devote his life to public service.
I really wish he had lived for many more years as it is very hard to find people with genuine intent.
May he be happy in the better world where he has gone..... his memories will always be cherished.  We will miss you sir.

AAP south Haryana convener dies of Covid death
Gurugram, May 31
RS Rathee, south Haryana convener of Aam Admi Party (AAP), succumbed to Covid-19 on Sunday night. A local councillor, Rathee was known to be most vocal for citizen issues in MCG house and ran many social endeavours. He was chairman of Gurugram Citizen Council.
The 56-year-old was in Medanta for 25 days. His condition was improving during treatment, but two days ago he was put on a ventilator after his health suddenly deteriorated and he breathed his last at 11.45 pm last night.
“Our hardworking and combative friend RS Rathee ji of Haryana is no more with us. Corona snatched them from us, May his soul rest in peace”, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted.
Local social, political and other organisation have mourned on the sudden death of RS Rathee. He had lost both parents this very month.

MCG councillor succumbs to Covid-1
RS Rathee, Ward 34 councillor of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), succumbed to Covid-19 late Sunday night, officials said on Monday
RS Rathee, Ward 34 councillor of the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), succumbed to Covid-19 late Sunday night, officials said on Monday. The 56-year-old councillor, who had contracted the infection in early April, was admitted to a private hospital for the past four weeks. Despite showing signs of improvement, his health deteriorated over the last three days, and he died around 9.45pm on Sunday due to multiple organ failure.
“Our local councillor was responding to the treatment, and his health had started improving. However, his condition deteriorated all of a sudden, and he was put on ventilator support on Friday,” said Dhruv Bansal, official spokesperson of DLF Qutab Enclave Residents Welfare Association (QWERA) and Gurgaon Citizens Council (GCC). Rathee had founded these two RWA groups — QWERA and GCC — in 1987 and 2005, respectively.
The MCG councillor had lost both his parents to Covid-19 just two weeks ago. He is survived by his wife Rama Rani Rathee, a former MCG councillor, a daughter, and a son.
*A Good Samaritan*
Rathee played an active role in providing food, medicines, and oxygen cylinders to other relief operations for Gurugram residents amidst the pandemic.
He was also instrumental in leading a nearly two-year-long MCG investigation, which highlighted various discrepancies in the process of allotment, hiring, credentials of MCG workers, and also brought focus on the possibility of ghost workers. His investigation had prompted the MCG to initiate its own probe, and over 600 workers were terminated in this connection.
“He was the most proactive member of the MCG, and always brought up important citizen-centric agendas during the official meetings. He was perhaps the most informed councillor, and knew all intricacies of the MCG’s operations and shortcomings. Even though he was a member of the Opposition, he always lent support for any initiative that aided in Gurugram’s development,” said Madhu Azad, mayor, MCG.
Rathee had won the 2017 MCG elections as an independent candidate. He had contested the 2019 Haryana assembly elections on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ticket. During his tenure as an MCG councillor, he played a key role in the ongoing maintenance transferring process of DLF Phases 1, 2, and 3 from DLF to the MCG, highlighting discrepancies in the MCG budget and fighting against the allotment of forest land for a petrol pump, among other such issues.
Before becoming a councillor, he was the president of QWERA, which covered DLF Phases 1 and 2, and the GCC which dealt with the problems of RWAs and residents across the district.
