"Good morning dear Mother it has been 10 years today. I so truly miss you I wish you could have met little J. The pain of your passing it's still so very prevalent however through prayer and remembering your words of wisdom has allowed me to keep moving. I had a conversation with someone who had asked me what it was like to lose a mother I explained there is no greater loss in life than to lose a mother and there is no words in the English language or any language to describe the pain. Missing you daily and praying for peace for all that have known you. Until I see you again love you son Junior"

"Dearest Ray Ann,
We were co-workers when we worked for DMV in the 70's.  You were the kindest, funniest, warmest person there.  You were the kindest person I think I have ever met.  It was as if you never had a bad day, Ray Ann.  You always lifted me up.  When I moved to WI, we wrote back and forth for several years, then I lost touch with you.  Sadly, I found an obituary for you online years later. But, the Lord led me to Willie and we spoke about you on the phone so I could find out what happened.  You married a wonderful man and he was so kind to me when we talked.  I am sorry you are not with us in person but you are in your heavenly home now and safe in the hands of Jesus.  I am so proud and happy to have known you.  You always made me smile.  I pray I will see you again one day in heaven. Jan"

"As RayAnns & Willie's pastor, one of my favorite memories was at a Christmas banquet.  They  were dressed to the nines, best looking couple hands down. i told the audience after the dinner and program...'now there's a DJ that's going to play some music and if you want to dance, stick around, if you don't, sit over here w me and we'll laugh at everybody."  RayAnn sat by me and said, "Pastor, we weren't raised to do no dancing."  I said, "Ms RayAnn, sit here with me and we'll laugh at those worldly folks."  Just about that time, the DJ hit Earth Wind and Fire's 'September'.   She jumped up and said, "Lord forgive me". And she went blazing out on that dance floor!  Elder Willie just shook his head.  RayAnn... I miss you."

"RayAnn!  As your pastor, I miss you so much. Your east-to-west smile and encouraging word.  You were always the classiest lady in the room. Your church is putting your name on a memorial brick at our new campus that thousands will see.  When they ask, 'who was RayAnn Watson' ? I'll say, 'sit down and let me tell you about that angel...'  Randy Phillips"

Her eyes sparkle like a bright star in the sky.
She has the stamina, beauty, and courage that one would admire,
Even the love and happiness one inspires.
She is a women that one can always count on,
And a women that sees no wrong.
Her beauty shines from the inside out,
It flows like a journey down a long route.
Her smile shines beautifully like the sun rising over the horizon,
And her intelligence, wisdom, and hard work are not surprising.
She is a genuinely caring women who goes the extra mile to help one in need or broken hearted,
And throughout all of her hard work, no one ever sees her fall apart.

"Dear Ray Ann;
Even though you have passed on, I am so happy tonight that I have found you! I have been searching for you   ... searching so that I could express my heartfelt gratitude for what you did for me that completely changed my life.
In 1999, at the age of 51,  I had been driving for Yellow Cab Co. of Sacramento for 15 years ( You were one of my regular clients. I drove you back and forth to the airport many times as you traveled often to Southern California for the Dept. of Parks and Recreation where you were employed).  At that time I had been seeking employment with the State of California for well over a year and a half.  I was almost ready to give up because, after all, I was now 51 years old and basically only had job experience in "cab driving".  I thought "How is a 51 yr. old, with NO experience,  going to get hired by the State ?? My worst fear was the fact that I had NO social security invested OR retirement at my age.  The future was starting to look very bleak (AND fearful) to me.
Finally I had an enlightening thought:  Add Ray Ann Watson as a character reference!  I did ... and soon after I was hired by the Dept. of Motor Vehicles!  I still remember your shout of joy when I told you!
What I really wanted to tell you, Ray Ann, is what happened a year or two  after I was hired.  I was talking with the manager who was actually responsible for hiring me.  She confided in me that the  reason why I was hired was due to YOUR reference and to something that you had said ... a remark that you made to her:  When you were asked  "Would you hire him?" , according to her, your response was "IN A HEARTBEAT!".   She said that the  authenticity of your remark  was all she needed to hear.
I have been wanting to share this with you for a long time.  I'm sorry that I procrastinated in doing so.
I have been employed with the DMV for nearly 15 years now.  I never cease to thank God for my job ... AND to thank God for Ray Ann Watson.  Thank you for having the confidence in me (a lowly cab driver)  that enabled you to say "In a heartbeat!"

My Sincere Love to a Precious Soul,
     ... Dean Webster"
