1926 Feb 28    Raymond Joseph Zach Sr. born in Pierce, Nebraska.
1945 Feb 21    Ordered to report for Pre-induction Physical Examination on the 2nd floor of 
                        Cones State Bank Building, Pierce, Nebraska, at 0930 a.m. on the 7th day of
                        March, 1945.
1950 Sep 9      Selective Service System Order to Report for Induction. Ordered to report to
                         the Local Board #73 in Pierce, Nebraska, at 1000 a.m. on the 21st day of
                         September, 1950 for forwarding to an induction station.
1950 Sep 9      Selective Service System Postponement of Induction.  Induction into the
                         Armed Forces fixed for September 21, 1950 postponed until November 9,
                         1950 at 0900 a.m..
1950 Dec 14    Inducted into the U.S. Army in Omaha, Nebraska.
1951 Jan 14     Boot Camp, 847th Artillery Battalion, Camp McCoy, Wisconsin

1951 Aug 24    HQ Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. Special Orders Number 197.  Monthly Levy of                               Male Enlisted Personnel for September Shipment to Far East Command.  The                           following enlisted member is held for assignment organization indicated, this                             station, and is transferred to Fort Lawton Personnel Center, Seattle,                                           Washington for September shipment to Far East Command. 
1952 Jul 6       Promotion to Corporal.  Company H, 32nd infantry Regiment Order Number 30.
1952 Aug 22   HQ Camp Stoneman, CA, Special Order Number 235.  Member due to arrive
                       Continental U.S. 23 Aug 52 aboard USN POPE (USNS General John Pope (T-
                        AP-110)) are held for assignment Det 1  6212 ASU (Pipeline) reassignment                                CENC SPC and assigned to REC CEN as indicated.  EM WP o/a 26 Aug 1952
                        w/o delay, RU AT to the CO thereof for further processing and subsequent
                        reassignment. 
1952 Aug 23   Date arrived in continental U.S.
1952 Sep 15   HQ Army Separation Center, Camp Carson, Colorado.  Subject: Payment for
                        unused leave.  Dad received payment for 8 days of unused leave.  Personal
                        Clothing Items. A showdown inspection was conducted and your individual
                        clothing record (DD Form 189) has been completed to reflect all items of                                    personal clothing in your possession at time of your relief from active duty.                                The items listed thereon are in serviceable condition.  You are required to                                  retain all personal clothing items listed on your DD Form 189 and to report to
                        the designated Reserve component with such clothing.  Items within Reserve
                        allowances will be required for duty with that Reserve component to which you
                       are attached and will remain subject to regulation s of the Reserve components.
1952 Sep 16    HQ Camp Carson, Colorado Special Orders No 204.  Following enlisted
                         member release assignment Army Sep Det 5022 ASU and As not by reasons
                         physical disability and transferred to the Enlisted Reserve Component on 16                             Sep 1952.  Each is assigned to the O Reserve Component Control Group                                 (UMTS) of the military district shown opposite his name effective date
                         following date of release from active military service.  Each will be given a
                         report of separation (DD Form 214) and Certificate of Service (DD Form
                         217A), Lump Sum payment for unused accrued leave authorized.   
1952 Sep 16    Honorable Discharge and Report of Separation from the Armed Forces of the
                        United States of America Effective Date of Separation.  Place of separation:
                        Camp Carson, Colorado.  Released from active military service and transferred
                         to ERC (Enlisted Reserve Component) for 5 years.
1956 Oct 15    Honorable Discharge from the Armed Forces.  This is to certify that Corporal
                        Raymond J Zach, Infantry-USAR, Ready Reserve) (active status) who was
                         inducted 14 Dec 1950, transferred to Army Reserve 17 Sep 1952.  Total
                         service time: 1 yr, 9m, 3 days.  10 months 29 days in combat

Military service awards received: Combat infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.
