A Better Place
The tears must fall, the heart must ache, the pain you have to face,
but know that I am doing fine, and in a better place.
You know that I have missed your mom, and brother's smiling face.
My mom and dad are also here, we're in a better place.
So mourn for me a little while, then put that in the past.
You know my life was very blessed, right up until the last.
Please know I'm watching over you, and miss you just as much,
though physically I am not there, your memories untouched.
Look to the sky and feel God's love, his warmth upon your face,
take comfort that we'll meet again, in a better place.
—Mary Gaynett, In loving memory of her father
Ode to the Old Man
You grew up in a different world, through depression and war life’s flag unfurled.
Your world was more simple and also more free. Is it any wonder you were so different from me?
In your world men were silent and strong, always right and never wrong.
But “I’m sorry” are words you learned to say, and I’ll be grateful for that till my dying day.
And I came to know who the world didn’t see. I’ll always feel blessed that you shared “you” with me.
We shared our hopes and sometimes tears, regrets, and laughter, even fears.
And we talked of how each man stands on his own, and ultimately dies alone.
But its almost more than I can stand, that I wasn’t there, to hold your hand.
I’ll miss your calls and the way you cared, your jokes, the games, the laughs we shared.
Our love for you will never stop. Forever our father, but, finally, my Pop.
—From Marsha with love, Pop

Geez, you'd be 96 today. I'm sure you're birthday will be better spent there, but we sure miss you here. I hope you're yucking it up with Mom, Mark, and Mike, Lucy and Ted as well. I think we're missing quite a party.
When I look at those photos, I just remember how everyone loved you and loved spending time with you. I was blessed for sure.

Dads Cowboy!!
Dads cowboy was getting old! So we agreed that he needed a new layer of paint. Dad told me it was a big job to paint this cowboy but I just kept saying, it would only take a weekend to fix him up!! LOL :0 , Every weekend for a month came and went and WE ( by this time dad is now helping me finish his Cowboy!) were still getting the last few touches done to make the Cowboy complete! This was just a few of the greatest weekends I had with dad.. We laughed, Relaxed, Told the cowboy he was a pain in our butts, And Laughed some more!! Dad always will be the Greatest!! Told me over and over " Only a Weekend ? this has been one long weekend Sweetie!!
Love You DAD!!
