O’Boy!
Na wa ooo!
No be so we plan’am
You had a lot scheduled
To do with me…

Then, the Angels came
Without any warning
Took away My Brother
One of their very own Angels

O’Boy!
Na wa ooo!
No be so we plan’am

My family and I
Left bereft
Left confused.
No be so we plan’am

But, who are we
To query the Angels?
Mere mortals who
“Know NOTHING!”
As you would often say
My ‘Mr Blackman’!

Who will call me ‘Blackman’ again?
When will I hear your infectious laughter again?
The crackling laughter that often ends with ‘Blackman!’
When will I hear them again?

O’Boy, Na wa ooo!
No be so we plan’am

But the Angels know best
They have taken
One of their very own Finest
Away from us

And there you are
Angel
In the company of Angels
Lucky Dube, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh
Angels at the gate
To welcome the Angel

They are playing
And I can see your face lighting up again
I can see your smile
I can hear your crackling laughter
I can see you singing
And dancing
Flying high
Like the free spirit
Like the angel
That you really are.

No more pain
No more sorrows
No more agony
Angel amongst the Angels
At peace

Such a beautiful spirit.. now he is your eternal angel walking with you everyday...

Colossians 1:11

May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, may peace be with you always. Lean on others for strength. Pray when it hurts.. stay focused on the kingdom of god.. that is where his soul is resting...be well

For the first time in December last year Nengia sent me Christmas and New year messages .

Since then we exchanged monthly greetings and other gist. He was a lovely person and his sudden death threw me off my feet. Oooooooo! Nengia your sudden departure is a great pain to me .

May God grant your soul eternal rest

May the Almighty God console the entire family in Jesus name. .

Suddenly about a month ago I received a call from Nengia in which he introduce himself as little monkey. A name , I gave to him as little kid. He sounded very much composed. Little monkey I insisted must travel to Bulgaria for further studies along with 2 other relatives .

A decision that I did not regret despite the challenges he had to contend with in life. His death is painful. I find it difficult to accept that little monkey is Gone.

May God grant his soul eternal rest .

I will miss you - my uncle whom I called by first name.

Nengia was just 4 year older than me. I grew up with him and my brothers in the same house. My mother’s kid brother and my grandma’s last born.

No matter what he did, he was a generous soul. If he had it and you wanted it, it was yours just for the asking. A big heart for sure. Nothing was too big to give. He never took life too seriously and this was probably where he and I would disagree and argue. But I loved him.

Nengia I am so sad to hear your are gone. Way too soon. I can’t believe that I live in a world where you no longer walk and talk! That we won’t have our phone calls and WhatsApp messages anymore.

I hope (pray) you are at peace uncle of mine. Rest.

We have lost someone special; for me an uncle, a brother and a dear friend.

Like every family we went thru ups and downs but the love was genuine.

Reggie was kind and generous. He loved people and nothing was too much to ask of him.

I will miss our long conversations trying to make sense of the world, our disappointment with our darling Arsenal and just hanging out having a Guinness.

There was so much more to say and do... I will miss him.

Irie!
his Life

A most eventful life

Reginald Nengiya Yellowe was born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria on 30th May 1963 the last born of Chief Nelson Gabriel and Elizabeth Ada Yellowe.

After his secondary education at Enitonna High School, Port Harcourt, he went on to study Hospitality Administration & Management at the Institute of International Tourism in Varna, Bulgaria graduating in 1987.

This is the boring stuff we include in eulogies. The more colourful parts of his life are best discussed over a cold beer with some finger foods.

Reggie was a keen sportsman in his youth; excelling in swimming, athletics and basketball. He was a rabid Arsenal fan and suffered the ups and downs of their inconsistencies with great passion.

His communities span Nigeria, Bulgaria, Greece and the UK. He is survived by daughters Regina, Gabby and Fleur, his older sister and brother Florence and Daobu and many relatives.
