another year has flown as I think of you getting your wings Daddy has gone back to Uni, for a diploma & you would be so proud! I have spent the last 24 hours sending you warmest & gentlest hugs little angel, you will always be in all our hearts, always not far from our thoughts & always with us all as we journey through this life. You have taught us all so much about life here on earth. There is a lunar eclipse, but I guess you know that, as you would have seen it before us here on earth. I made Daddy a bracelet for you & him last night, Blue crystal like your eyes & yellow for Daddy, blended to remind him of you when he gets a bit sad.... I hope to meet you one sweet day little angel, you brought me courage the way you fought, Thankyou from the bottom & depths of my soul for all the love I've been taught... Much Love sweetheart...
Carter was a 20 month old beautiful baby boy. He passed away from Menkes Disease, which is a very rare, hereditary copper deficiancy. Carter is survived by Mother Cher, Father Craig, Sisters Jessikah aged 7, Lucinda aged 6 and brother Alex aged 4. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Dear little one, you have your wings now.

About Carter
Carter was born on 14th August 2009 at the Mater hospital in Brisbane, Australia. He was born of an emergency cesearean section. When he was in hospital, his body temperature was so low that they placed him in an incubator for the majority of the time. The day after he was brought home from hospital, the Department of Child Safety removed Carter and his 2 older sisters and older brother from their mother due to the house being too small. The same day, DoCS noticed something was wrong with Carter - he was having trouble breathing. They called an ambulance, then contacted the mother, telling her she didn't need to be there and that they would call. One hour later they called and informed the mother that Carter had fractured his skull, and insinuated that the mother had done it. Mum rushed to hospital with Nanny, only to find that his skull wasn't fractured at all. Carter was having seizures. Upon hearing this both mother and nanny demanded tests, but deep down they both knew.... Carter Hendrix Jones had Menkes Disease.
Menkes Disease is a very rare genetic disorder. It is caused by a lack of copper in the body, and affects only boys. Carter's mummy had 3 brothers who passed away from the same disease. Unfortunately, because it is so rare, 90% of people have never heard of this terrible illness, and even worse there's no cure for it as yet.
Carter went to live with a lovely nurse, while his sisters and brother were placed together in another home. Eventually the mum was able to obtain a larger house, and the children came home.... all except for Carter.
Carter continued to go in and out of hospital, each time getting just a little bit worse. His parents knew what the outcome would be, but tried so hard to stay strong.
On the 15th April 2011, Carter's sister Luci was just waking up for her 6th birthday when there was a knock on the front door. Mummy answered the door and instantly knew that Carter had passed. At this present time, we are all in a lot of shock, and I would personally like to take this time, as Carter's mother, to say thank you to all our supporters out there. Your love, support and respect means everything to our family.
Love Carter's mummy,
Cher. xoxo
