So early this morning I got an email reminding me to offer a tribute to Damian Ellison, and I am compelled to do so just because. Damian's story touches my heart, for reasons I can't really explain. I've read about him, heard stories about him and my heart goes out to his mom and family and friends. Like me, Darian was an artist and a writer. I missed seeing most of his work and reading things he wrote. Yet I can still relate, because many artists have a quality about them that sets them apart from the rest of the world, and I truly believe that Damian was set apart somehow. So rest in heaven Damian. You've been loved and cared for all the days of your life, and you will always be in the hearts of those who have loved you, especially your mom, JoAnn. May God continually cover her with mercy and Grace, just because.
