I am torn to pieces to learn of Remmy’s passing. My heart hurts over his loss. I first met REMMY when he joined USIU. I was a student and my dad Kisaka was his colleague.
Remmy is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He always had a smile on his face. I will cherish all those moments. My dad also told me that he had spent time with him recently. That is so comforting to me.
Remmy did not have a family when I met him but I do see what a beautiful family he had. To Remmy’s family my heart is heavy today and I know yours is too. Words cannot describe how sorry I am about this loss . My thoughts and prayers are with you. All my love.

USIU-Africa has lost a wonderful person: a disciplined, courteous, and professional man with a kind and gentle demeanor. What a loss!

Though our meetings were few and far between, we met and chatted briefly for over a decade; that's long enough, I think, to get the measure of a man. I shall always remember Mr. Remmy Maghanga's greetings of "Welcome" and "Shall look forward to seeing you again!" whenever I was in Nairobi and he would catch me up on the topical issues of the day and always ask after my family.

Farewell wise gentleman! May Remmy's soul rest in peace. May his spirit soar with the angels. And, at this sad time, may Remmy's grieving family members, friends and associates find comfort in his inspiring life and enduring wisdom. Amen.

Fare thee well, Remmy. I will miss your jovial and amiable self. To paraphrase Khalil Gibran, the earth has claimed your limbs and now you are truly dancing. Say hi to my Papa and to my dear friend Regina. Till we meet again, may the Lord grant sweet repose to your soul.

Remmy first come to USIU-Africa as  a mechanic. He was a single man with no children then.  I watched him grow into a married man and then a family man.  He so loved his family and was pleased when his son won the cutest baby contest during our early years at USIU. He was overjoyed when Clotilda was born because he finally had his baby girl.  He was so proud when Dennis graduated from varsity.  It was a pleasure to spend time with him and his family.
He would later become my driver. Some were a bit nervous to drive the VC but not Remmy.  He was always calm, jovial and committed.   He often helped me with my family and always offered his hand to help me down the steps after a long day at work.
I will miss his calls that always led to talking to the entire family.  You brought joy to many.   I will miss you. Rest in Peace, kind Remmy.
