Reuben O.Cutts, 86, a lifetime resident of Granville County passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 21st, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Durham.

Reuben was the son of Oscar Cutts and Erastus Brown C. Harp. He was a W.W. II Marine Veteran who served in Guam. After working for the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C., he returned to Oxford and worked for 25 years in the U.S. Postal Service and then as a Greeter for 8 years at the RBC Center in Raleigh. He was an avid N.C. State Wolf-Pack fan.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford by Rev. Wes Garner, Jr. Burial will be in Meadowview Memorial Park.

Surviving are his cousins: Cheryl Hawkins, Deborah Gough, Elaine Hicks, Mary Clayton and Fred Moss all of Oxford, WarrenNowell of Burlington, Tommy Brown of Wake Forest, Patricia Overton of Raleigh, Preston Taylor of Chester, Va., Roger Taylor of Enid, Ohio and Joan York of Charlotte. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Gabriel “Gabe” Cutts.

Visitation will be held after the Graveside Service at Meadowview Memorial Park.

Reuben, my first cousin, was a fun loving and very giving man! He will be missed. He is with the Lord and his family. May he be at rest.
