Its been 729 days that you've been gone. Words can't begin to describe how much i miss you, on this special day your 2nd memorial. Your passing feels so fresh and painful again. Oh ! how much i wish you were still here with us in the flesh. Earth lost a gallant soldier for Jesus but heaven gained you.
Undeniably, you were the finest father a daughter could ever ask for.
You left a great legacy ,vacuum too large to fill, and lots of memories for us. Our hearts ache for you dear dad.Am so thankful for all the memories we shared together. I only wish you were here to make more.
Till the resurrection morning Daddy.......

Hmmmm.....My highly esteemed Uncle; you were such a rare gem. You saw me as one of your family right from the Town together with Grandma Tanimowo who always gave us fish to eat at home. Uncle, you never treated me worse even when everyone deserted me; you stood by me and searched and found me at the Oshodi Military Cantonment, Lagos. Then you took me out and started mentoring me. We both lived together till we gained employment and were transferred to Government Teacher Training College by the Ministry of Education.

Really, you were an intelligent but a humble man; full of wisdom and understanding. You were called "Family Man", "A.B Special." No wonder you loved the family and gave them palliative even during the COVID-19 pandemic.

We both gave our lives to Jesus on the same day in Foursquare Gospel Church and people used to call us the church of two people from Badagry. You loved everyone which leaves a memory no one can steal. However, your death leaves a memory no one can heal.

I can still hear your voice telling us the experiences to motivate us to do better than you, My heart bleeds each time I remember you are gone. I reminiscence the special way you relate to me. You are loved and served God. You will continue to be our role model with so many sterling qualities.

During one of your last days, you told me "Matthew, gbemi" meaning "Matthew, carry me." And as I did, we both wept in your embrace.

Dear Uncle, Father Shepherd of Shepherds, who dear step into your shoes?

I will miss you and your death causes me pain. The legacy you left behind will continue to flourish and it will never perish until we meet again.

Good night! Good night!! Good night!!!

Dear Grandpa,

I miss you dearly, I miss the holidays that i look forward to coming to regardless of the long bus rides, i miss the way your laugh made the room light up when you tell us stories or when we are all together enjoying each other’s presence

I miss the early morning devotion that we sluggishly wake up for , the praise and worship we did to the most high and the knowledgeable devotions and messages that you impacted on us

I miss the dances that we would choreograph and perform that filled our hearts with joy and love

but most importantly i miss how there was never a dull moment with you and how your light never ceases to shine

Although these might be distant memories and moments , they are ones that are engraved within me that i will never forget . Your soul , Your light , Your laugh , Your wonderful Person will never be forgotten because you lived through the word and love of God and i will forever be proud and grateful to call you family

love you forever,
Olamide

Hmmm. Where can I start from? There's so much going through my mind now. So much to say, but not certain if words can really capture all that I have to say about you Daddy. But one thing I can't fail to acknowledge is the fact that You are the first reason I can call myself a Christian today. First it was my Mom whom you first led to Christ, and whom you did so much for, then her Dad, who happened to be your late Elder Brother followed by his entire household. What more can anyone give that can be more Precious. I do not take it for granted Sir and I am appreciative of that Sir. You were a great Man. A lover of Children. One who always want nothing but the best for everyone around. Even though we are pained by your demise, but We thank God for the legacy you left behind, and to say that we know your soul is resting peacefully in your Maker's bossom. Till we see again Tave, Daddy G.O. Daddy Ikorodu, Rest in Sir

Remembering the holidays spent with him in the sun
when time stood still, and he would thrill with
many stories told of years gone

To us he was a moral beacon and a North Star
always in demand but always had moments
to call and talk whether close or far

In times of turbulence, he’d keep us in prayers
a real servant of the Lord an ideal to strive toward we
are proud to call ourselves his heirs.

Eternal rest Grandpa,
You are home

THE GOSPEL OF DR ABRAHAM HUNGBEME

Oh! How I wish every Christian will practice Christianity according to the model of Dr Abraham Hungbeme. Daddy your passion to see young and upcoming Ministers succeed in life and Ministry is second to none. You had a list of your spiritual children who you tirelessly labour and travail to regularly pray for on your prayer altar. I am moved to tears to remember when you don't hear from anyone of them for a while, you took the pain to start to call them one after the other, praying and prophesying on them.

Your type of love was entirely different. Few days before I got married many years back, I was stunned when you bought a bag of rice and brought it to my house so that myself and my wife will not lack food after our wedding. A lot of times that I visited, even though I couldn't give anything to you, you had always wanted to give me money that you would call transport fare. What a gospel you preached with your life! What a way of Christianity.

You were so close and passionate about your spiritual children to the extent that you have a coded way of calling and encouraging everyone of them. You will always call me DR GODSPOWER! My wife you will call RONKE AGBA! You will then add MEN WILL SERVE YOU! THE WHOLE WORLD WILL SERVE YOU! Aah! Who will ever encourage and strengthen me in this way again?

Time and space will not permit me to satisfactorily write on your rare humility. As a very young Minister, years back when I invited you to preach, there was nobody to play the drums, before I knew it, you became the drummer. You never arrive late to anywhere you were invited to preach, instead you will always arrive before the time. Dr Abraham Hungbeme's footprints can not be erased in decades to come. I must honestly confess that I have not for now seen anyone who will be a replacement to Dr Abraham Hungbeme's type of gospel lifestyle.

TRIBUTE TO DADDY ABIODUN ABRAHAM HUNGBEME.

Glory be to God Almighty for the life well spent by my spiritual father, Rev. Dr Hungbeme.

During his life time as my pastor, he was a lover of new converted brethren, a good mentor, leader and father indeed.

He taught me how to evangelize the words of God without any fear or panic. A prayer conqueror during his tenor at Foursquare Gospel Church, Odusegun way, Igbogbo under the Late Reverend Augustine Dogo even till he said goodbye to the world.

Daddy was friendly, accommodating & tolerates people that comes his way. Indeed, he was a builder and not a politician and a patriarch that people should emulate in all faces of life.

He was there for me & my family, take up our matters as his own biological children. He always prayed for me & my work even till I retired.

I never knew he would leave too soon because he prayed for me last on 29th April 2021. Which he always do.

Daddy we love you but God loves you most.
Till we meet again daddy, Rest on... .

My AB as I fondly call him. I am proud of him as one of my sons in the Lord who the Lord pleased to save through me. As Abraham of old, he is a man of faith who does not believe that there is something impossible. A man of integrity, soul winner who has won so many souls to the Lord who stand as my spiritual grand children. Since the year he became born again, I have not seen him sad or frowning his face any time. He's always joyful all the time. A giver, encourager, smart, faithful and fruitful, neat and smart all the time. He is younger than his age. My AB, good night, we shall meet at home in the morning. Rev. Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Oluwasanmi.

Tribute to an icon of faith and patriarch, a gallant soldier of Christ and a man of conviction who stands for the truth always.
You have fought a good fight of faith, you have finished your course and have kept the faith. A man of integrity who never compromise
Daddy! You taught us how to face the challenges of the world through God's word, you taught us how to fight life battles with strategies in Christ jesus you taught us how to see opportunities out of every situations in life, you taught us not to settle for anything less than excellence, you taught us how to dig deep to bring out the best in us, you taught us to always stand for Christ in all things. The moments of Bible study and prayer session in the prayer tower will always be a memorable one. You adopted i and my wife as your biological children. You absolve my children as your biological grand children.
Daddy you always let me know that an Egun man doesn't relent in their decision. You have left a big vacuum in our hearts but the consolation we have is that we know you are resting in the bossom of Christ Jesus and we shall meet to part no more on the last day. Rest in peace DADDY

Sometimes, we receive testimonies or read about great people we didn’t have the opportunity to meet but when we encounter those whom they have influenced positively or their seeds, we are just as opportune as they were.

We are so grateful to God for this great servant of His, who lived and touched lives beyond his reach and sights. Papa, the legacies you left behind speak on.

Till we meet again, sleep well in the bosom of thy saviour.

I have met The Reverend Dr Abraham Hungbeme for the first time in summer of 2007 when he visited his family in London. At that time, his son Isaac Hungbeme was a member in my church so we asked Dr Abraham to share the word of God during the evening service which he did with devotion.

One of the things that struck me when I met Dr Abraham for the first time was his humility. Despite all his qualifications, achievements and experience in ministry, he was a humble man; until you are told, you wouldn’t know who Dr Abraham was.

I want to say to all the Hungbeme and the church of God that Dr Abraham Hungebeme lives and his deeds for the kingdom of God will continue to speak for ever. So let us celebrate!

The Quintessential Man from God

Clearly, this planet Earth has lost a great soul while heaven has gained an angel more.

The memories you left behind are too dear and wonderful that even generations yet to come will continue to talk about you. You led a distinguished and exemplary Christian life bearing the light which touched many dying souls in darkness. You rescued many who had no hope and future from the chains of Satan. The gospel you preached to people was the same life you led. There was no difference between your message and the life you led among us. In other words, you were the Jesus we knew.

You were an embodiment of love, joy, peace, patience, faith, kindness, gentleness, meekness and self-control.

Deep in our hearts, a memory of your godly and selfless life is kept until we meet when the Roll is called up yonder.

My family members and I who had a close relationship with you are very proud of your Christian faith.

I God's care we commend you. Amen

LET Me Die The Death of The Righteous!

Papa Abraham Abiodun Hungbeme, in your service to YAHWEH and Humanity, you gave all that you were given by the LORD who sent you to this side of eternity.

Indeed, you were a catalyst and raised other Leading Leaders as a veritable extension of the Benevolence of GOD to fellow humans. You literally held the hands and treaded the feet of some of us through the testy terrain of Kingdom work.

Papa Abraham, you cared so much for others that you died empty, still giving to the needy and poor even in sickness! I can't forget your roles in Land Deliverance among other evangelistic drives to expand the Kingdom of GOD far and wide.

Friend to many! Father to All who met you along your Journey of Life. Who steps into the Big Boots you left behind? From our minuscule understanding, ABBA Father who called you to Himself at this time, won't allow a vacuum.

May we All Finish Well and 'Die the Death of the Righteous' for us to rejoice together at the Feet of the LORD Jesus Christ for ever.

Blessings Evermore.

Your son, Akin ABIODUN.

Tribute to a man of godly character: Rev.Abraham Hungbeme

The exit of a man of godly character. What a glorious privilege for one to come to this Earth and fulfill his mission like this. Rev Abraham Hungbeme came, he took up the business of God as Jesus said " l must be about my father's business. He occupied his past and left the rest for everyone of us to continue before the sound of the trumpet.

I pray God to help us live such an exemplary, humble, obedient, charitable and lovely life.

He was a godly and good friend since l knew him in 1990 through the Foursquare Gospel Church. A discipline vessel of God with amazing grace for kingdom work. He remained a servant of God till death took him away.

Adieu, my friend and brother, till we meet again at home with the Lord.

Thank God for men like you who have gone ahead of us to bring cleansing to the land of Ikorodu NATION, before we the younger ones came.

Your work and your colleagues works, are very evident in the land of Ikorodu.

The spiritual battles you all fought have left Ikorodu land a better place than it was before you people came.

Tribute to my father in the Lord.

To write a tribute about my daddy is to write a book about our giant of faith; one striking point about his life is that the moment Baba discovered God's hands upon your life you automatically become his friend.

My daddy, my friend, a man of great faith who never believed anything is impossible. A fearless man who challenges the gods of the land; humility personified. The kind of love Baba have for me I don't know how to describe it to the extent that anything I asked of him, he will do without hesitation.

Once Ehinmisan says it, Baba is OK with it.

I will missed you dearly my daddy till we meet at the feet of Christ.

Baba anoints me every new year to prepare me for the year. He prays fervently for me to succeed and never to fall. To daddy I can't be wrong.

He hates to get to any meeting late. He is full of passion for the kingdom.

Daddy everyone knows that what ever I say here is not enough of who you are to me. I will miss the way you always call me Dr Ehinmisan and your constant prayer each time you call or meet.

"EHINMISAN THE WHOLE WORLD WILL SERVE YOU." Thanks for being such a loving and caring father. Good night my daddy Rev. (Dr) Abraham Hungbeme.

Some encounters never really leave you neither do they fade even at the passage of time. Such was the encounter I had with you Pa Hungbeme, whose voice still lingers on in my head.

It was a no brainer on meeting you to quickly decipher that you are a man of God, although I already knew that from knowing and working with one of your children (Matthew 7:18). You were very reassuring, direct, and astute with your judgement. You are a rare personality in Christ and what the Yorubas will refer to as "AJERIKU"; an APOSTLE of the MOST HIGH GOD.

You gave me a word of hope and that word is still LIVING and GROWING inside of me till today. (John 4:10).

I celebrate your life because according to your son, you fulfilled destiny; and I do agree with him because that's what LIVING is all about. You came, flourished, conquered and left an indelible impression in your family, community and most importantly within the body of Christ.

This is a void that will be really difficult to fill but with a JOYFUL heart and with the knowledge that the good work you have done LINGERS on. (Revelations 14:13). We all submit to the WILL of GOD and pray for God's guidance for your family at this challenging time.

This is a little tribute from me to you....(It's a Charles Wesley in Yoruba because I love my Yoruba hymns); and because you are a RARITY with God's value. Click the link below for the English Version...

TRIBUTES TO A GREAT UNCLE (REV. DR. HUNGBEME ABIODUN ABRAHAM). (BABA ALLELUYAH)
Daddy, little did I know that you’re about to say good night when we saw last. And the news of your death was a shock to me
I want to believe your Maker actually took you home because precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. I also thought your Maker would have given you more grace to outlived your siblings because you have just begun eating the fruit of your labour and ministry.
Dad, you have fought the good fight of faith Sir, your sibling respected your calling and proven ministry, as a matter of fact most of them got to know Christ through you including your mummy (Mama Tanimowo), who use to pray in the name of the God of Abraham (AB). I and my siblings was brought up under you tutelage. Just like Christ took our shame, tribulations and persecution, you took it upon yourself when I was a young believer to defend the faith when my Daddy being a Muslim then fought you for converting his children to Christianity. I never regretted being trained by you. Whatever I am today is all through you Sir. I am still thanking God for this great opportunity.
Your Spiritual Leadership is Exemplary, Discipline, Dedication and Commitment to Godly character is inestimable. Evangelism, Prayer and Giving is your way of life. We will miss you dearly beloved Uncle. Adieu Baba Alleluyah.

Tribute to a GENERAL: PA Rev.(Dr) Abraham Hungbeme

"Baba Hungbeme" as we fondly called him was one of the God's generals of our time. Words may not be enough to express what the heart may want to say. He was a father, teacher and mentor to many of us in lkorodu land. He related with ministers freely and prayed consistently that God will grow the kingdom works in our hands.

He did not die, he was asleep. He has gone to the house of his FATHER. He has changed his address, gone to heaven. He has finished his portion of the kingdom work.

Grandpa,
It’s been so long since I last saw you, but certain memories still remain in my heart. I randomly remember how Christmas used to be when I was little and you give us 20 Naira notes and we end up buying fire crackers with the money. I also randomly remember Sunday mornings where we make trips to Ikorodu and we see you preaching with so much passion and zeal.
We rejoice in the fact that you knew Jesus and led several souls to him.
We do not mourn you!
We do not weep!
We rejoice because you are alive!
And we have the assurance that on the resurrection morning, we all would be reunited again!
You’re just in heaven earlier than us.
Sleep well Dear General in Christ!

A Great Patriarch.

Some people lived well that one is not even thinking that they will die one day.
Some people are so loving, helpful and supportive that it has escaped one's memory that they will cease to exit one day.
Some are so anointed and gifted to the extent that your thinking towards them is devoid of death.
Some are so available for support and encouragement that one will only be thinking that they will be available forever.

Our father in the Lord, Pa Rev. Dr Abraham Hungbeme is an epitome of the above.

He lived so well for Christ and humanity. A loving father that will not discriminate and ready to associate with low and great as long as you are on the path of Christ.

An anointed servant of God and highly gifted who fought for the unity of the body of Christ in the land. A man of prayer who is always on" fire" any moment you have an encounter with him.

Papa, you will be greatly missed but our prayers is that may the Lord keep growing your good deeds in the land until we meet to part no more on the resurrection morning, keep on resting in the bosom of your Lord whom you so much loved and served.

Adieu, great Patriarch.

A Tribute for the late Rev Dr Abraham Hungbeme.

An home call of a general in the Lord.

Late PAPA Hungbeme was one of the foremost Pentecostal Leaders in Ikorodu land and especially IGBOGBO land. We got to know late PAPA Hungbeme in 2000 when Global Intercessory Team Ministry was marking her 2nd year anniversary.

Baba came with 4 ministers to grace the occasion and he was happy that one of his prayers to raise a young minister who will be interested in intercessory ministry. He was also happy that my wife was also actively involved. This marks the beginning of our relationship with Baba.

Papa was an Evangelist and Intercessor to the core and his works had brought many souls into the kingdom.

No doubt the Body of Christ in Ikorodu and especially IGBOGBO have lost a great general in the Lord's army.

Some of Papa's ways of life that had touch our lives, family and ministry;

# Welfare: His welfare style is according to the Bible Act 2:42--47
He can give away anything to help another person irrespective of your age, religion, tribe or denomination.

He helps with moral support and financial support regularly which our family and ministry had enjoy very well .

#Leadership building: He gave room for the young ministers to grow by the leading of the Spirit and he correct when necessary. His role in PFN is highly appreciated and commendable especially when he was IGBOGBO chapter Chairman of PFN.

#Family: When I lost my father, Baba organise a full bus capacity of brethren from Cornerstone Gospel ministry to Awe, Oyo state to attend the burial. I was very glad and it has added honour and respect to me and family.

GIT Intercessors, Offin :Baba was the person that dedicated and commissioned GIT Secretariat building on June 8th, 2013 with special blessing and prayer.

Whenever GIT Intercessors are on highway intercession, Baba will be interceding for us till we returned, a classical example Highway Intercession for Lagos to KANO state. What a father!

In GIT Intercessors ,we see a mentor, father, general and leader to follow; we really miss him, as a ministry, family (The Akinniyis) and PFN Ikorodu Province.

Baba rest on the blossom of the Lord ,we love you but God loves more.

You lived a practical life of Christ, till we meet at the feet of the Master. Adieu a great general in the Lord's army.

A Tribute for the Late Rev. Dr Abraham Hungbeme.

A Glorious Exit.
Late Papa Abraham Hungbeme was one of the foremost Pentecostal Leaders we got to know as far back as 1986 in Ikorodu Land. By then he was still worshipping with the Foursquare Gospel Church Haruna, and used to be the interpreter for Rev(Mrs) Oluwasanmi.

"Baba" as we fondly called him was never title or age driven in the discharge of his Kingdom responsibilities. He was a vibrant Evangelist to the core, and always joyous in his disposition. Baba was a lover and encourager of young ministers of the gospel. He was our major encourager at the Youth Christian Fellowship(the then foremost Interdenominational Christian Youth gathering), usually held at Oriwu College Chapel on Sunday evenings.

Baby's passion and exploits for the gospel as an Evangelist was undeniable and infectious. He would go anywhere for the sake of the gospel even when not convenient to do so.

As a couple Baba showed a special interest in our progress and had a special way of calling us by our first names. We treasured it a lot and will definitely miss his voice. His contributions to the Living Stone Builders Ministries are highly commendable. He always answered us anytime we called on him. To us, he was a father, mentor, an encourager in ministry and leadership. Baba in his characteristic manner ordained us as Reverend leaving us with no options. We really miss him.

Our condolences go to the family, and the body of Christ in Ikorodu.
Baba rest on in the bossom of the Lord, we love you but God loves you more. You lived a good and enviable life. Adieu great general in the Lord's army.

I received the news of your demise with rude shock. I found it difficult to believe that a General, an Icon, a Veteran and an Enigma is gone to be with the Lord!

Papa Abraham Hungbeme, you came, you saw and you conquered! You were larger than life in your uncommon love for humanity, unreserved dedication to Christ, in season and out of season preaching of the Gospel, pursuit of the unity of the body of Christ and in particular your burning commitment to the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Ikorodu and by extension, Lagos State.

You paid the price, played your part and gave your quota to the growth of Christianity and indeed the Gospel in Ikorodu Land.
I shall continue to have your words and deeds as a memorial in my heart till eternity!

Papa, rest in the bosom of the Lord till we meet to part no more. Good night!

Tribute to a Worthy Father

We bless the almighty God even as we join mummy and children to mourn our daddy who fell asleep in Christ.

Few among several reasons while we should rejoice are because he gained in death. Philippians 1:19-23.

Baba was still very relevant in his services to the almighty God to the very end.

Among others baba gained are as follows.
(1) his death is precious in God's sight. Read Psalm 115:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

(2) his life is permanently redeemed from oppression, violence of this world because his blood is precious in God's sight. Psalm 72:14

(3) our daddy died in the Lord. (4) Now he's resting from all his labours.
(5) His good works in God are following him via his family, ministry and his numerous spiritual children globally etc.
Revelation 14:13

We pray for God's continuous comfort and encouragement for our mummy, the children and church to take heart as we join in the celebration of his glorious passage into Eternity.

TRIBUTE to late Daddy Abraham HUNGBEME, aka AB

We have just lost a peculiar fellow whose vacuum will be difficult if not impossible to fill in the nearest future, for his likes are one in a million.
Baba Abraham HUNGBEME's life is worth emulating in all ramifications.
Providence brought us together in the same working environment - GTC Igbogbo in the 70s and I had the rare privilege to have a closer contact with him.
I watched him over time in the course of duty and can say without reservation that  Daddy as a civil servant was a workaholic, a diligent and highly committed officer who wouldn't take impossibility for an excuse without first making an attempt. Baba Hungbeme would always be smiling however difficult or stressful or unpleasant was the task at hand. I had never seen him with a straight face. And to cap it up, he was loyal to the core to his boss, but not docile.
Equally on the home front, Baba's wish and desire had always been having a united and tightly-woven family. It was joy for him to have everybody under his roof. He was never bothered by the burden this would constitute, and the discomfort it would cause him and his immediate family. He was ready to please others at his own detriment; some time around 1983, I visited baba to seek advice and solution to an issue. To my uttermost surprise, without any prior notice Baba, said "we must go home ( Badagry) now now. Are you ready? No procrastination". And that was how we hit the road that day without prior preparation. How many people can do this? This is why I used the word Peculiar in my opening.
Now, talking about Daddy' spiritual life that brought him to the limelight, Daddy knew and embraced our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ early in life. He chose, for reasons best known to him, the FourSquare mission for theological knowledge, and spiritual growth and development. I vividly recollect, Daddy and his wife, Mama Dupe and all the children then, Segun, Vick, Dupe and Mawume in the 70s, wouldn't miss any of the weekday church meetings, even after a hectic day at work. My house was so located that there was no way I would not see them when they were going to church. When passing, there was no time he would not ask me to join them, but I would tactfully decline. This had become a routine that immediately I saw in distance Segun who was always the forerunner with a stack of Bible and other books on his head, I knew Daddy would soon follow and I would take cover in order to avoid his unceasing invitation to church. This scenario continued until I left Igbogbo not knowing that I was going to toe the same path some 20 years after; an act which gladdened Baba beyond measure.
All in all, Daddy Hungbeme was better off for the decision he made in his early adulthood to follow Christ as he was able to climb the rungs of the ladder to the topmost hierarchy of the Foursquare Church which is Reverend, and then founder of Cornerstone Gospel Church which, by the special grace of God, shall not die, but march on and flourish, in the mighty name of Jesus.
Daddy, your departure is a painful one because a lot of things were left undone, but no one can stop God when He decides to call us home.
ADIEU Daddy AB, as you were fondly called, till the Resurrection Day.
_ Your beloved AJIYON VIJANNANYIN

No amount of words used can really describe who papa was(is), a man of faith, humble brother core, sees nothing impossible, the father of all, raises up whosoever he came across, a giver, encourages, a preacher of the word and a carrier of the powerful of God, still doing the work of God even at the last minute. The world will miss you Daddy, not only us

Papa with a good heart

You were a blessing and motivation for me and our ministry as a whole. You came to inaugurate our ministry and since then picked up interest in me. You would call me and pray for me. You were a good man and your kind of humanity is scarce to find. You were a man who practiced love to the letter. I miss you papa and your memory will continue to linger in my heart. Keep resting in the bosom of your Lord. Adieu Papa Hungbeme.
