His Life

Reverend Frank Wright, Sr., was transferred  from  the church  terrestrial to the church  celestial to aide in  the presence of God on Wednesday, September 5, 2012. he was born July 26, 1932 in LaFayette, Alabama to the late Grace Menefee Wright and the late Douglas Wright.

He confessed Christ an early age and joined Pilgrim Baptist Church. He graduated from Lanier High SchooL

Rev. Wright  moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee in November 1953 and joined Macedonia Baptist Church where he was ordained and served as Associate Minister. This era marked a beginning of a lifetime of service to God and, as he spent  years actively involved in singing,  praising,  and lifting  up the word of God under  the leadership  of Rev. James Calhoun.

He was employed by Vulcan Iron Works as a welder and retired in 1996.

His home-going leaves us in sorrow, but our faith, hope, and trust in God remains steadfast and unshaken.

Rev. Wright married  the late Octavia Mullins Wright and to this union five children were born; Frank (Shirley) Wright, Lanett, AL, Gary  B. (Brenda) Wright, Lanett, AL, Gloria T. Wright, Montgomery, AL; Angelyn (Ivory) Davis, Opelika, AL. and Reginald Wright, Rochester, NY.

He married the late Dorothy Wright and to this union one child was born, David (Shelby) Wright, Seattle, WA

He leaves to cherish his memories; six children; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Peggy Beasley, Roanoke, AL; a special and devoted cousin, Mae Ella Wright Moss.
