Reverend McCormick was born in Roanoke, Alabama on November 21, 1936, the son of the late Maggie Aldridge McCormick and Genus McCormick. He was the pastor of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ Pentecostal Holiness Church. Reverend McCormick had a tremendous faith in the Lord, and because of that he regularly practiced the ritual of handling poisonous snakes. He believed in hard work, and serving his Lord. He was well respected by all who knew him. He was a wonderful husband and father, and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Lilly Bell Shadinger McCormick of Roopville, GA.; one daughter, Lisa Bohannon (Randy) of Whitesburg, GA.; two sons, Jamie McCormick (Celeta) also of Whitesburg, GA., and Jody McCormick (Michele) of Roopville, GA.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
