He is the son of the proud parents, Mr. Jesse James and Mrs. Pauline Jones, Sr. He was born October 13, 1960. He is a graduate of Sam Houston High School and a student of the historical Bishop College of Dallas, Texas. Paul is the brother of Ruthie, Jesse, Tyrone, Don and Janet. He has several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and fans all over the world.
As a child, he would sing with his brothers and youngest sister Janet, leading songs inspiring everyone wherever he traveled. Pastor Jones was called to the ministry on April 15, 1976, and with faith in his Creator, founded and organized a wonderful church on November 23, 1981 with 9 members and the journey began at several other locations before landing on E. Mount Houston Rd, until God called him home.
While pastoring at Greater New Grove Baptist Church, he would broadcast services every Sunday on Radio KWWJ, 1360 AM spreading the gospel throughout the city of Houston. Those who knew him always observed him helping people, teaching them the message of Christ, letting them know that they must be saved. He also encouraged people to get it right with God, that “this thing is REAL”, and that the “Word of God can save you, and keep you if you want to be kept”. While at the East Mount Houston location, membership grew to over 2,000 people in less than nine years.
His unique gifts, talents, and abilities earned him the name “God’s Man with a Vision”. Being such an anointed and powerful preacher and teacher, with a voice and songs to uplift and renew, he was blessed to record his first Live Album with standing room only crowd at Brentwood Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. The album from the Live Recording made the best seller charts at local radio stations and record stores with the title cut, “I Won’t Complain”. To this day, “I Won’t Complain”, is yet loved and sung by many all over the world. He has also recorded songs with other Gospel Artists, and is well known in churches and the music industry abroad. He is featured on two songs on the Gospel Fellowship Workshop album. Paul also recorded with the Dallas Fort-Worth Mass Choir accompanied by Rev. Milton Bigham, and with the GMWA 1990 along with V. Michael McKay and Kathy Taylor, both natives of Houston. He also appeared on the Bobby Jones Television Show in Nashville, Tennessee, and he has recorded with the James Cleveland Gospel Workshop of America in Washington D.C.
He stunned the nation with his single, “I Won’t Complain” which caused his music ministry to soar to the top with such awards as: “Outstanding Male Vocalist of the Year” in Houston Texas polled by the listening audience presented through KWWJ-Gospel 1360 AM where the Rev. Darrell Martin was General Manager.
Pastor Jones was humble, yet distinguished. He made a profound impact on his community through his wisdom, character and heartfelt passion for humanity. His music continues to impact millions and his sermons have opened hearts to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. Thank you Pastor Jones for giving your life to ministry and the love of Jesus Christ!
NOTE:
The song, Forever With Me, was written and sung by gospel artist great Yolanda Adams for her close friend, Pastor Paul Jones

What is evident here is torment..for the deceased..the survivors..and all else involved covertly or outright. The solution? Pray without ceasing for "all"..always should have. God unravels every mystery.

He definitely was a man who helped so many and surely he didn't deserve to be killed....He helped everyone regardless of who you were or what you did..... He would often visit my home church ... he always called my mother his "Birthday Buddy" because they shared the same October 13th birthday. He was an awesome man of God and it broke my heart to hear that he was killed. I had just seen him that Saturday and he was gone that Monday.

my family members are the Washington/Roys and we knew Paul before he began pastoring. The Washingtons , Roys, Johnsons, and Mitchells were the founding members that helped him in his ministry so I'm family thru Church lol... I remember the last time I saw Him/Paul. He was soooo worried. He seemed as if he sensed that his rest was near. in service one time, he stated that God showed him that he was going to die early. I'm blessed to have had the experience of saying that He was really something special...

Forever With Me - Yolanda Evette Adams
Forever With Me was written and sung by gospel artist,
Yolanda Adams for her friend, Rev Paul Jones
Looking over the horizon, night breaks into dawn
I get a little misty eyed, knowing you've gone on
I've come to realize just how much your presence meant to me
I also realize that now you're finally free
I'll always love you for the special times we shared
All the times you let me know just how much you cared for me
I'll always love you, you were a friend that I could totally depend on
I love you and you're forever with me
The will of the father had to be fulfilled
I feel your spirit, your voice still gives me chills
The anointing is still touching today
I wrote this with a smile and tears of joy just to say
I'll always love you for the special times we shared
All the times you let me know just how much you cared for me
I'll always love you, you were a friend that I could totally depend on
I love you, you're forever with me
We used to sing together, cry together and laugh together
You said it didn't matter for God would always take care
You taught me how to give again, when giving seemed to be too hard
The benefits of your love were my reward
And I love you for the special times we shared
All the times you showed me how much you care for me
I'll always love you, you were a friend that I could totally depend on
I love you, you're forever with me
I love you, yeah, you're forever with me
I love you, Paul, you're forever with me, I love you're forever with me
I could always depend on you, I love you, you're forever with me
I love you, I'm gonna miss you, you're forever here with me

The Untold Story
The Kelontae Gavin Story
Kelontae Gavin, an energetic contemporary gospel vocalist from Ridgeville, South Carolina, unwittingly launched his career with a performance of the Rev. Paul Jones' "I Won't Complain." Recorded in his high school cafeteria in 2014 and uploaded to YouTube, the interpretation caught the attention of Atlanta-based pastor and music executive Marquis Boone. Gavin signed with Marquis Boone Enterprises in early 2016, and through Boone's affiliation with the long-running Tyscot label, released his debut single, "Higher," that November. The song was written by his mother, Priscilla Smalls, and produced by the Grammy-winning Myron Butler. Around that time, Gavin made his national televised debut on BET's Joyful Noise. In 2018, he returned with his full-length debut, The Higher Experience, which peaked at number two on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart. Included on the album was the single "No Ordinary Worship."
