A Soldier of Christ has gone to Meet Jesus
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Rev. Isaac Alamu, 77 years old, born on May 9, 1944, and transitioned to meet his master Jesus on June 8, 2021.

Our Dad, Rev. Isaac Olubayo Alamu transitioned to glory on Tuesday 8th of June 2021 to stay with the one whom he loved and served all his life.

He loved Jesus, served him and told others about Jesus and now moved up to permanently live with him in heaven.

While we miss him so much on this side of eternity, we know we will see him again on the resurrections morning. We may miss him for a long time while we are still in the flesh on this side of eternity but it will not be forever as we will see him again at the feet of Jesus to part no more.

Continue cheering us on daddy, we will meet again on the resurrection morning to live with Jesus forever.

Jesus remains our hope, halleluyah.

For the longest time, I have lived in denial, refusing to completely accept Daddy's demise.
Angels should not die. Daddy lived amongst us as one, he was not flawless but was surely close to being so.
I was a complete stranger to him but he took me into his house and cared for me as one of his own. His words were gentle, full of grace and wisdom. I hardly ever saw him angry. Daddy was indeed GOLD Standard. He would constantly pray for us and was ALWAYS willing to help without hesitation. He was in truth, a FATHER and a constant reminder of who a good father should be. If really angels exist, daddy was one and he walked among us. I hate goodbyes! But I hope someday in eternity we will meet again dear Daddy. You are sorely missed. Angels do not die, so till we meet again, may your gentle soul continue to sleep easy.
Farewell Daddy.

A TRIBUTE TO A GREAT UNCLE
It took me so long to put my thoughts together for this tribute and to accept the fact that as a physical entity, you are no more. Just like that Uncle Bayo! I just had to find the right words to describe the greatness of an Uncle who meant so many things, so positive, to us in the Alamu family. I grew up to know you as my daddy’s younger brother. My daddy’s fondness of you, especially after the death of other Uncles: Folorunso, Sunday and Segun further endeared me to you since you were the only brother remaining after the death of the trio mentioned above. We feel blessed to have you as an Uncle and we thank God for the wonderful life you lived.

You were so caring, loving and contented. You were not very rich but you were a highly respected man in the society and most expectedly in the Foursquare Church where you served your creator as a Reverend. You were always eager to find out our life challenges and always ready to help and provide succour. You did not do this for only your biological children but for all Alamus. You were outstanding even in the civil service, where you served at the high echelon of the ladder as a Director of NYSC. I am a witness that you used your position to help many people into that Agency, even after service.

You were so humble, simple yet highly disciplined. We all are praying to live an exemplary life as you did. You were so amazing! You were a great worshipper of God and a great teacher of the Word. You put your resources to use for God and humanity. You were principled, firm, straight-forward and very accommodating. There are so many amazing memories of you.

It is so painful to lose you at this time, but we are comforted that heaven has gained a great soul. You are now at peace! Sleep on Uncle Bayo. You will remain in our hearts forever. Thank you for living an exemplary life. We miss you. Today, we celebrate a man of peace, a devoted family man, a disciplinarian of repute, a man who lived a purposeful life and a servant of God.

For all the saints who from their labours rest,
Who thee by faith before the world confessed,
Thy name, O Jesus, be forever blest
Alleluia, Alleluia!

Adieu! Uncle Bayo.

My daddy, my prayer warrior, my adviser.
Even though your passing all happened right before my eyes, i still can't believe you are gone. I still can't believe i would come home and not see you to welcome me home and asking about my well being, with that soft smile on your face.
Infact it took me a while to pen this tribute down, because i can't imagine doing this any time soon.
Daddy thank you for all your selfless sacrifices, kindness, undying love, your words of encouragement and most importantly, thank you for raising me in the way of Lord and for imbibing the fear of God in me. And also, thank you for leading by example.
Daddy you might not be with us physically, but your teachings and legacy lives in me forever.
Daddy i know without a doubt that you are resting in the bosom of the Lord, but i will forever miss you.
I Love you forever daddy.

My wife and I want to salute a General in the army of our Lord Jesus Christ, who recently was called home by the Commander, our very Lord, Jesus Christ.

We knew Rev Bayo Alamu in 1980 when they moved into a flat apartment, in the house we also occupied, at Ajibade, Ibadan. In the course of our close relationship together, the Lord afforded me the priviledge and opportunity of sharing the gospel of our Lord with him and he willingly accepted. Consequently, he and his family joined with us in worshipping at Oke-Bola Foursquare Gospel Church.

His spiritual growth was phenominum, because of his passion for the things of God. He there-after rose to become a pastor in Foursquare Gospel Church. He was indeed faithful, loyal, dedicated and humble servant of the Lord. He would be missed greatly in the body. We cannot forget one of his messages, when he had the opportunity to minister at our church annual convention, in London, titled "Spiritual Slumber." It was awesome, impactful and unforgettable.

We can testify, by the grace of God, that our brother and friend, Rev. Bayo Alamu, ran his race well and finished well, and like Paul said, we know that a crown of Righteousness awaits him.

We seize this opportunity to express our condolences once again to the entire family and to say that we should not cry like those who do not have hope. We know that we shall meet again at the feet of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

My daddy, my birthday mate, the news of your death was a shock. You used to call me on our birthdays and you visited once in my Office at Agodi. Working with you as my Director in Osun was a memorable one. Kindhearted, caring father and a Boss per excellence. May God Almighty that you loved and served so much grant you eternal rest, and comfort the Family.

GONE TOO SOON.
I can’t believe my daddy has gone home to be with the Lord. You were suppose to be my Father-in law, but from the very first day you met me, yourself and mummy have treated me as a son, and I am immensely proud and grateful to God for the life you lived. Where can I begin daddy, we were hopeful you would pull through, and you hoped against hope even till your final breath. You never stopped believing, you lived what you preached. You were a man of great faith, a man of integrity.
Your simplicity, humility and integrity never ceases to amaze me. Ever since I have known you, I have never seen you become angry and lash out. You were a great example of a father and a husband, your life was worthy of emulation, You personified Christ.
I will always cherish the times we spent together, whenever you visited, you were a blessing to us, you challenged us to live a healthy lifestyle, just by the way you lived, you nourished our soul spiritually as well. You will always call myself and Kemi, and pour out blessings on us, just a day before you travel back to Nigeria. God always honoured your prayers, your pronouncement of blessings on us never fell to the ground.
You were there to celebrate every milestone in our lives, you were also there during the challenging times, both physically and spiritually.
You were not just a father to me, but also to my siblings. You took it upon yourself to organize fasting and prayer sessions when Ope was getting married, you did what a loving father would have done. You were Busola’s shopping partner whenever she was in the UK to buy stock for her business, you knew where she could get the best deals and would take her there daily, so she could maximize profit for her business. Daddy we miss you!!!.
You were a devoted Granddad, calling the kids every Sunday to find out how they were doing, you faithfully carried out this duty, calling them 2 days before your demise. You were Eri’s number one fan, always encouraging him about his football. You were ecstatic anytime Eri’s team won, and would always encourage him anytime his team lost. You would go to watch him play anytime you are around. Little surprise he was inconsolable when he heard about your passing.
Daddy, your passing has left a huge void, which only God can fill, and we trust He will.
We take solace in the fact that you lived a Christlike life, and you are resting in the bosom of our Lord and saviour. Sleep on, my daddy, my hero.

The news of the passing on of Pastor Alamu on the morning of June 8, 2021 came to me while I was reading the book of Romans chapter 14. Indeed, I see the life of this man of God in verses 7 and 8.

”For none of us lives to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's."

This is the narrative of brother Alamu's life. He lived for Christ and died for Him. Hallelujah. Glory be to God. Amen.

Mrs Williams was Daddy's contemporary at NYSC as State Director.

Rev Alamu is my Pastor, my teacher, my father and an exemplary leader. lt is very evident that he loves God and he demonstrates this by total commitment to God's work.

After his retirement from the ministry at 70 yrs, he still made himself available to regular teaching of the word of God during the church Bible Study and prayers. Each page of the 70th birthday pamphlet had a tract. What a great lover of God. He will forever be alive in our hearts. We love him but God loves him more.

Adieu our great teacher and daddy.

I was shocked to hear about the sudden demise of my Uncle. A couple of months ago we lost another uncle. uncle Isaac called me to inform me formally about uncle Moses's Anani death and asked me if I could make it up to the funeral but suddenly I was so occupied with my job schedules and I was so disappointed I couldn't attend family  burial service First and foremost I extend my condolence to the bereaved family and also say I empathize with them with deep sorrow. you truly served the Maker, the nation at
large and also your family and the rest of society where you never had anything in common you thrive to extend a helping hand to make it a better world as a true man of God. Today I solemnly express my sorrow and a prayer of goodwill to you as you passed away to the maker and of the angels of heaven to grant you the heart desire of a place in the bosom of the Almighty where you rest peacefully because you have beautiful heart and heaven gates are opened wide for you. May your legacy be of a thing that will never fade away. R.I.P uncle we love you. My mom will never forget you [Bisi] because you are the pivot which she rotates around and she will always have it in mind that you've been there since our dad passed away 1997 where you took up the mantle to be there for us as a father of all. We really appreciate you.

Pastor Olubayo Alamu - my Uncle (mom's junior brother) and a true child of God. I would never forget some of your last words to me in November 2019, when you came to New York City for your first child's (Muyiwa's) wedding. Even though you lived in the same Borough (Brooklyn) with me, I wanted to visit you where you were residing after the wedding, but you said in a low and gentle voice "You are afraid, you may not see me again". To which I was very disturbed and felt, why won't I see my own uncle again? Nothing will prevent me from seeing you. The one who used to visit my mum and her family in Ibadan since I was a little boy, and the one that I used to visit at his house in Ibadan? That's not happening sir!!

Little do I know that you were speaking words of prophecy. I struggled against what you said meeting up with you, and an appointment was set to meet you at one of the branches of the Church that you were planning to attend in a part of Brooklyn, on a scheduled Sunday. I drove on that rainy Sunday morning to the Church address you gave me and was there for a couple of hours. I could not see any Church at the address that you gave me and couldn't see you. I was disturbed... When we later spoke on the phone, you said you were also surprised you had the same experience - the Church may have relocated as you later discovered too.

You left for Nigeria and I only learned last week that you had been sick as soon as you arrived from the USA!! Haaaaa!!! Heaven understands even though my understanding cannot fathom all these events. My heart grieves deeply!!

Anyway, I won't mourn like a man of no hope!! I'm more than confident that I will see you on the resurrection morning for you were a model of God's child filled with fruits of the Spirit - peaceful, gentle, very level-headed, a very good listener, loving, faithful, steadfast, have great honor for God, and you chose to serve God full-time at your retirement.

You've fought a good fight sir, the rest is left to us. May God console and wipe the tears of your children, your wife, who stood by your side supporting you and your Ministry in service to the Almighty Father, and our entire family's. Amen.

Sleep on Uncle, and for sure, we WILL ALL meet at the feet of Jesus on the resurrection morning in Jesus mighty name. Amen

We will all miss Baba Alamu's counsel and gentle disposition to issues no matter the situation. He was great. A perfect gentleman that loved the Lord with passion. A lover of peace indeed. May the Lord be praised for ever. May the Lord console the entire church of God and the immediate family.

Baba Alamu is a gentleman per excellence. Gentle and soft spoken but firm and consistent. We served in the church council together from 1994 to 1998 under 3 different District Overseers. The Lord used him greatly to stabilise His church, during a very turbulent period in Oke Bola church.

May his soul rest in perfect peace. A great man of God he was. A lover of peace. We love you but the Lord loves you more. Adieu Baba Isaac Olubayo Alamu

I met Rev Isaac Alamu exactly in the year 1993 when I joined Okebola Church upon my transfer to Ibadan. He was such a humble and quintessential gentleman that everyone loved to be with. Our membership of the church council under our great and amiable leader, Rev Idowu Obakin cemmented our relationship beyond ordinary church acquaintances. We shared together our family achievements and challenges. He was a counsellor per excellent, an avid Bible scholar, a preacher of the gospel of highest repute and above all, God fearing in all ramifications. While I was sent to pioneer Favoured Assembly in Lafia Hotel in the year 1999, Rev Alamu became one of the pioneering pastors sent to pioneer our Oluyole church in the year 2000. As fate will have it, Rev Idowu Obakin encouraged both of us to enrol for Bachelor of Theology program which we completed in the year 2005. Rev Alamu is a giver to the core. He applied the benefits of his office to put smiles on faces of several families whose wards enjoyed preferential NYSC postings. Until he submitted finally to his master's will on Tuesday 8th June, 2021, Rev Alamu was actively engaged in rendering diverse assistance to humanity. We will surely miss this great man of God. He has left unquantifiable vacuum in Okebola church where he served as a trustworthy minister until he retired at age seventy. Daddy Alamu retired but was never tired. His tracts ministry publication has continued to aid evangelism in our churches and other denominations. His memory shall not be forgotten. Adieu our amiable daddy. Good night.

We lost a rare gem, Daddy Isaac Olubayo Alamu. An oak of righteousness were you. You loved selflessly, you exemplified Christian love and grace. You poured out yourself in love to we your begotten children and many others who came to know the Lord through you.
Thank you daddy.
You prayed grace and favour down whether we were getting married, pregnant, in the labour room, looking for jobs, studying or just doing life in general. A vivid picture of you remains in my mind of you praying over the children. Ah, daddy! Observing your walk with God alone is enough for us to know that your God is real.

TRIBUTE TO A QUINTESSENTIAL SERVANT OF GOD -
REV'D ISAAC OLUBAYO ALAMU

I write on behalf of my family and myself to express our heartfelt condolences to our dear Mummy, Pastor (Mrs) Alamu, the children and the entire family members on the passing on to glory of your husband, father, grandfather who was a caring and loving father- in-the-Lord to my family
I met this wonderful man of our great God precisely thirty-six years ago (1985) at the Ode-Aye NYSC Camp, Okitipupa in Ondo State then as NYSC Senior Inspector For his humane nature and friendly disposition, it didn't take us too long a time before we became friends and have remained very good family friends to date bonded together by the love of Christ
I recall that in October 2019, the two families travelled on vacation to the United States of America While my family stayed in Edgewood - Maryland, you and mama were in New York but we were in constant touch as you were healthy and bubbling with life
We later got to know several months after our return to Nigeria about your health challenge and prayed ceaselessly trusting God and hoping that you will soon return to church for us to continue to enjoy your powerful teachings, guidance, unending prayers, counselling and encouragements only to receive the sad and shocking news of your demise a couple of days ago What a great loss!
Though we are saddened and pained by your demise at this time yet we rejoice that you died in the Lord The Bible says "Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the spirit, that they may rest from their labours, and their works do follow them" (Rev 14:13)
For us as a family and the body of Christ, we are eternally grateful to God that you lived a worthy life and left indelible footprints on the sands of time Undoubtedly, you fought the good fight, finished the race and kept the faith - Alleluyah
Papa Isaac Olubayo Alamu, may your gentle and most kind soul rest in everlasting peace of the Lord Amen

A father, a mentor, a unique boss is gone!
I still find it difficult to come to terms with the news of demise of my boss and father. Pastor Isaac Olubayo Alamu . A man who in his life time combined mental, emotional and spiritual intelligence. You thought me hardwork with godliness as critical requirements for success at work place. I served you, as your personal assistant for 7years and 9 months with all diligence and sincerity and you never failed an inch to recognise and reward that in cherished physical and spiritual dimensions. Your constant prayer that l too will get to the top of my career was answered by God. The very reason you were the first l called to inform you about my promotion to the rank of a Director. No one ever crossed your path without drinking or benefitting from your well of experience and generosity.
Anytime you merely observed the countenance of your staff, you already knew what their problems were without being told and will provide appropriate solution that left such staff and family happy and blessed.
You mastered the act and art of doing this to the extent of earning yourself the sobriquet, "Alamu seniyan"among the rank and file of workers. All administrative styles you taught me and which l deployed are what brought me to the peak today! You were a teacher. Yiu were a life Coach. You were an Instructor. You were a Pastor. You were a Preacher. You were Godly in and out. You were God sent to me! I thank God our paths crossed. I thank God l received your mantle at the point of departure from public service.
My boss, my father, l will sorely miss your wise counsel. I am taking solace in the fact that you lived a worthy life worthy of emulation and adaptation. Your simplicity was second to none. Your Godliness was simply enviable and infectious. No wonder this is evidently manifest in every thing you do or have, include the scions of Pastor Alamu's family.
Sleep on boss until we meet to part no more!

Baba, Alamu, continue to rest at the bosom of our Lord.
I did not know you on one on one when you were here in earth, but I met your seed that reflects gentility, humanity, role model and good example in the society.

I did not in my wildest imagination think I will be writing this so soon. Oh, my daddy, my mentor, my teacher, my confidant, my prayer warrior, my godly counsellor has gone to be with his maker!
He was a greatly caring father. He was super organised and meticulous.
A very considerate and gentle father.
He taught me how to plan ahead. Never demanding, never enforcing his wish or his own desires on his children.
He understood the fact that we were his gifts from God and that God alone has a perfect plan for us all.
So he ensured we all heard daily about this God and we all grew in Grace.
When it was time for any decision to be made, God just led and my dad agreed and prayed with us.
Oh how I and your grandchildren will miss your counsel, your prayers, your consistent check that we were still loving God.
We love you daddy, we will miss you so much.
We are not grieving as one without hope because we know you are now with your maker. The One you have all your life prepared to meet.
Our comfort is in your word Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-15.
We will surely meet again.
Continue to sing your hosannas with the angels with your tenor voice.
We will carry on with the torch and continue to light the darkness.
Rest on my gentle daddy, till we meet to part no more.
We will continue to sing your song: In Christ Alone, My Hope Is Found.
Love from your dear daughter

Baba's death came as a shock to me because I was expecting him back in foursquare oke bola alive not dead. I look forward to seeing him because I had missed his in dept teaching of the word @bible studies and Sunday sermon. Oh baba was versatile, dynamic and deep, you can not sit under his teaching and not have a full note of deep and new revelation of God. Musically, baba was topnotch. He called me and my assistants in choir on several occasions to teach new songs and always admonish us to update ourselves. He loved good musics, good sound. I am happy to hear one of his favorite musics playing in the background of this tribute right now. Baba helped me out in my NYSC posting even when he was out of the country. I am sure baba is in better place now. BABA LIVED AN ENVIABLE AND FULFILLED LIFE.REST ON BABA ALAMU

A Soldier of Christ has gone to Meet Jesus

June 13, 2021
Our Dad, Rev. Isaac Olubayo Alamu transitioned to glory on Tuesday 8th of June 2021 to stay with the one whom he loved and served all his life.

He loved Jesus, served him and told others about Jesus and now moved up to permanently live with him in heaven.

While we miss him so much on this side of eternity, we know we will see him again in the resurrections morning. We may miss him for a long time while we are still in the flesh on this side of eternity but it will not be forever as we will see him again at the feet of Jesus to part no more.

Continue cheering us on daddy, we will meet again on the resurrection morning to live with Jesus forever.

Praise the Lord.

Legacy series 3 : Show me your friend

June 17, 2021
Dad kept a few quality friends in his active years with the government and after retirement. They never had god fathers but had God the father on their side whenever a storm arose, and he was always there for them.
Just like the three Hebrew boys in Daniel Chapter 1, their position was never in doubt whenever they had to make a choice for what is right. They faced many issues but had a God who was always present for them and ready to deliver.
The friends eventually became members of our family, and the families still relate till date. In fact, I spoke to one of them few hours after his transition and his words of encouragement were very soothing. They had their own fair share of battles but their faith in Christ was solidly intact, and he always showed up for them.
I have learnt over the years from his examples and have never looked forward to having a god father in all my years of working across many organizations and countries. I knew from his example that God will always show up for me and always try to do my part while trusting God to help where I am deficient.
I remember Dad’s usual phrase, “ continuous updating” every year and will always have a professional development plan in my yearly goal because of his charge for personal development. Dad was never tired of reading books and was always up to date with information around the world. Soon, I will write about my “ tech savvy Daddy” but dad was up to date with technology and will always write me emails from his iPad and load me with relevant information for career, family, spiritual and personal development.
I thank God for the many wonderful moments we shared while he stayed with me during the global lockdown and will always cherish those fond memories.
Grateful to God for giving him to us for these 77 years of impact.
Thank you, Jesus

Legacy Series 2 : Purpose above Pleasure - the 75th Birthday we had to shelve

June 12, 2021
I always look forward to the 9th of May as it provides fresh opportunities to receive showers of blessings  and many "God bless you" from my Dad amongst other blessings that comes regularly.

So we had planned a small surprise birthday for his 75th in 2019 and just needed to know his itinerary for the weekend before speaking to his friends and co-labourers in the gospel. Somehow, he managed to get wind of the planned event and pleaded that we suspend because our brother, Alamu Faith Ayobami had a key program later on that year. Daddy managed to get us to put it on hold while focus shifted to our brother. He  wasn't bothered about celebration or the pleasure attached ( we had made bookings in an exquisite hotel to host few of his friends). We had to cancel and he was glad we did. He was purpose driven and would give up personal pleasure to ensure others were comfortable even at his own personal expense or inconvenience.

Daddy taught the value of delayed gratification and pursuing purpose and exemplified it. We just couldn't afford to put the horse before the cart as we began to make decisions on who to marry, careers to pursue et cetera.

But now, I find a semblance in the life of Jesus as stated in Hebrew 12:2 (NLT):

"We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne"

Jesus focused on his purpose and not pleasure while delivering on the kingdom agenda. May we find purpose and stay committed to fulfilling same without distractions in Jesus name.

We are grateful Daddy for leading by example. Now that we are also parents, God is helping us to pass on the same legacy to our seeds and it's adding up. Praise the Lord.

LEGACY SERIES: GOSET MEDIA

June 11, 2021
From two words; GOD and Set, Daddy established an organization many years ago called GOSET and ventured into some commercial activities right after retirement from active service. While he had to suspend activities in the organization, he ensured the name remained and it metamorphosed into Goset Media Ministries which published his numerous writings online and offline (paper) for distribution to churches and individuals.

He wanted the gospel materials to reach both local and global audience, hence his insistence on having the same materials online through www.gosetmediaministries.com Today, Goset Media Ministries is still up and running and will continue to publish gospel materials globally for the propagation of the gospel of Christ by His grace. I invite you to take a tour of the site and experience God through Dad's writings.
