Mount Tabor Players

September 3, 2022
Rev. Dow came to our little Methodist church in Mount Tabor in the mid 1960s and launched a theatre group, The Mount Tabor Players.  My parents, Dot and Don Davidson, the Sobolik’s, the Myers, the Middletons, the Petrucellis were all involved. As a kid, I helped my dad build sets and appeared in a few plays, as did my mom and friends Tom Sobolik and Dave Myers. Tom’s dad, Donald, directed several productions. Dave’s mom, Vinette, acted in several, as did Tom’s mom, Ginna.  It was a wonderful experience. Just imagine:  A bunch of Methodists performing the plays of Isaac Peretz and Sholom Aleichem at the Morristown Jewish Temple.  It was quite a statement

Thank you, Rev.John Dow. Your life among us in Mount Tabor was a blessing.
