We'll meet at the other side of the River

June 30, 2018

On one of Bro KS's visits to our home in France, I invited him to one of the places our regular visitors are now familiar with: the swimming pool a hundred metres down the road. Like it is the case with most people of our Africa-born, village-bred and campus and Urban area-trained generation (apart from those from the ęsę-odò), he told me what I knew and expected as response: "Bro George, mi ò mo lúwèé!"

When I told him I was no Michael Phelps myself, would sink even if the sea were lead but enjoyed doing my regular exercises in the small pool, he agreed to come along after saying something to the effect that he was sure we were not going to need a swimming certificate anyway to cross over to the other side of the River.  We had a good laugh and enjoyed our hour together in the small pool. Needless to say his height and mine served as a major advantage. And each time I have been back there since he crossed over, I have remembered him and encouraged myself with the words of Robert Lowry's him:
Yes, we'll gather at the river
The beautiful, the beautiful river
Gather with the saints at the river
That flows by the throne of God.

So long, Bro KS!

Working For God Acceptably

June 8, 2018

Summary

This book addresses why it is important to work for God and how to work for God among other themes. We live at a time when most believers though worshippers are either not working for God and when they eventually do, they do it in such a way that the work does not meet heaven's standard.

The religious system (Babylon) that most believers are accustomed to makes us spend most of our talents, time and treasure in serving a system that will fall. This book tells us point blank that Babylon will fall. It tells us of the dangers Of behaving like bastards whenever we are corrected and it emphasizes how to approve ourselves as ministers of Christ.

This twenty six chapter book is a must read for every believer who wants to love God more, serve Him better and bring forth much fruit. Read it, recommend it to others, live it and use it in training other believers.

FAYEMI MOURNS PASTOR KUNLE SALAMI’S DEATH

June 8, 2018

PRESS RELEASE

FAYEMI MOURNS PASTOR KUNLE SALAMI’S DEATH

Minister of Mines and Steel Development and Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi has commiserated with the family members and the entire Christian community in the state on the passing of  Pastor Kunle Salami, founder of Chapel of His Glory, Ado-Ekiti, earlier in the week.

Dr Fayemi said the news of the death of  Pastor Salami, a former Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ekiti State chapter, was quite shocking and saddening.

The Minister, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media, Mr Yinka Oyebode, described the late pastor as a remarkable servant of God who lived an exemplary life as a devoted family man, humble and passionate shepherd and a Christian leader who made great impact on the lives of many.

Fayemi said Pastor Salami gave his all to the service to God and the society. He said the late Pastor touched countless lives with his popular radio programme “Morning Dew”, which has become a very vital daily tonic to many thirsty souls.

He said the late clergy was a man with uncommon compassion for lost souls and the less privileged in society. He said Pastor Salami was father to many orphaned children, many of whom he adopted and sponsored through higher institutions and mentored to become established men and women in their areas of endeavours.

He said the late Pastor Salami would be remembered for the flourishing impact of his ministry in the entire state and beyond, adding that he was a role model and a source of inspiration to many Ekiti youths.

“Although we shall miss this great servant of God. Our joy and that of countless lives he touched is that he knew God, loved God dearly, served God with all his might and lived for God till he breathed his last.

“Our condolences to the entire family he left behind, the entire congregation at the Chapel of His Glory and the, the leadership of PFN and CAN and the  Christian community in Ekiti State in general.

“We hope and pray that the family would draw strength and encouragement from the word of God and the knowledge that Pastor Salami is resting in a much better place.

“As a soldier of Christ, Pastor Salami fought a good fight of faith and left behind legacies of service and honour. His was a life well spent in the service of God.

He Walked the Talk.

May 21, 2018

For about 25 years, he taught me how to live as a Christian, and for his last 25 days showed me how to die like one. A loving father who exuded and extended uncommon grace, a consummate leader who led with integrity, a genuine mentor who followed Jesus wholeheartedly and a humble giant who always hid behind the cross. So sweet in life and beautiful as he slipped the surly bonds of earth that Monday afternoon, to touch the face of God and reunite with He who lent him to us for 56 years.

My Revvy is gone and I am orphaned and feel so vulnerable but through my pain and tears, I still know that God is good and He does Good
