Rhonda was my high school mate and neighbor. She lived across the street from me when we were in High School and she stood up with me when I get married in 1983. She was the first person I called the night my dad passed away 32 years ago. It had been many years in between but I saw her at our reunion last year. I am thankful for the friendship we had all those years ago and having the chance to see her again last year. My thoughts are with her family and dearest friends. Lean on those near you in the days ahead and hold your precious memories close to your heart forever.

Friendship is not measured by how many times a day, week, month or even years you talk or get together,It's measured by respect, trust, love, and goodness,I can count on less than 1 hand of people I know who can fit in that catagory and Rhonda is one of them for me,She is the most kind, honest straight forward person I have ever known,As a Mother there were never none better,I have bragged on her for so many years,if we could all be a little like Rhonda we all would be better people.Rhonda I love you and I will miss you,You are truely one of the best people I have ever met,I thank god for just knowing you,and all that you are,I'm sure shows in your boys,You are so proud of them and I know you are still here with us through all our treasured memories. I will see your smile forever.

Wonderful Friend

December 3, 2014

Rhonda and I have been friends for 36+ years.  I have so many great memories over these years.  Whenever we were together it was non-stop talking, laughing and great times.

Many times when our boys were younger we would have sleep-overs at her place.  She would make a huge dinner for us, then the boys would play and we'd sit at the table and talk, and laugh for hours.  The next morning Rhonda would fix us a huge breakfast.

She was a wonderful friend and a fantastic mother to her boys.  She cared about people, she cared about everyone, and was always there to help.

Rest in Peace, my beautiul friend, I will forever miss you!!!

Remarkable woman

December 2, 2014

I didn’t know Rhonda well, but I knew her well enough to know this world has lost a remarkable woman.

Chris Mathews has been a valuable and trusted associate with our company for several years. We volunteered to provide free family portraits to a neighborhood in Miamisburg that was particularly hard hit by the recession several years ago.  This was part of an outreach with my church and was planned as a complete day of pampering for people that had lost jobs and were struggling financially. The day was planned to provide not only portraits, but a free picnic lunch and activities for the whole family. Chris and his wife Kristie were some of the first to volunteer their services for this event. On the day of the picnic, Chris and Kristie met me at our studio to help pack our equipment. They had a 3rd person with them, Rhonda Mathews! Rhonda said she wanted to come help in any way she could. I was blown away by her generosity as she spent the entire day making sandwiches and graciously serving all of the people that attended. Later on, I heard from several of the families about how kind and compassionate Rhonda was.

That was one example of what a remarkable person she was. The other example was by the sons she had raised. We hired Chris right out of high school and knew straight away he was a special person. The more I got to know him and his story, the more I realized that his mother had done an amazing job pouring kindness, love and compassion into her children. We never know how our days are numbered, but I can see now that Rhonda had raised her boys to be wise and mature beyond their years. Maybe, somehow she knew they would need it sooner than most.

Yes, this world is less for the loss of Rhonda at such a young age, but we are all better for having known her while she was here. Rhonda’s life here on earth was shorter than any of us would have wished, but the legacy of her unselfish love, kindness and compassion will live on through the lives of her children. Well done Rhonda, well done.

So many, where to start

December 1, 2014

When we was kids we lived in Kings Mills, we was playing hide and seek and she tried hiding in the attic, I was looking for her on the 2nd floor and all of a sudden her leg came through the ceiling, needless to say but it was easy to find her.   Not to many people know this but when she was about 12 we lived on a farm with a long lane, my dad had a old truck that she drove up and down the lane, I couldn't drive it because it was a stick shift. She felt bad for me so she taught me to drive it, I never told people because it's hard to tell people that your little sister taught you how to drive. I could go on for hours telling you the stuff my sister taught me, I really never had to protect her from her boyfriends but a few times I had to protect them from her. People that knew her knows what I mean, she was a very strong person and I'm proud to call her my little sister, such a beautiful person and She raised 2 great boys. She is a great aunt to my daughters and they look up to her due to to her strength. I love her and will miss her.
