ForeverMissed

[[There are moments that the words don’t reach. There’s a grace too powerful to name. We push away what we can never understand; we push away the unimaginable.]]
We are deeply saddened to share that we lost Rick suddenly on Friday. He was surrounded by family. Imagining a world without his sparkling personality and never-ending jokes feels impossible, and incredibly lonely.
Rick would have been the best grandfather. He was already the best husband, dad, and brother anyone could ask for. We will think of him often, but we already miss him to the moon and back.
Please post some photos and favorite memories of Rick below so we can all remember him together. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Foundation, at www.PanCan.org.

Dear Lynn and Family,
We would like to extend our deepest
sympathies to you and to your entire family.
I know how much Rick meant to you,
along with the special bond you shared.
I will always remember the early days,
growing up together in the neighborhood.
Rick will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dear Lynn and the Bentley Family,

We are very sorry for your loss and our hearts go out to all of you during this heartbreaking time of loss. Chaim Stern's poem eloquently describes the other side of grief is love.

Sending you love and big hugs,
Suzanne, Andy, and Alana Leventhal

Tis a Fearful Thing
———————————
Tis a fearful thing
to love what death can touch.

A fearful thing
to love, to hope, to dream, to be –

to be, And oh, to lose.

A thing for fools, this,

And a holy thing, a holy thing to love.

For your life has lived in me,
your laugh once lifted me,
your word was a gift to me.

To remember this brings painful joy.

Tis a human thing, love,
a holy thing, to love what death has touched.

Laurie, Lynn, Diane and Johanna - We are all heartbroken at Rick's passing. My family's thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The last time I saw Rick was at your mom's funeral on Long Island years ago. It was fun to catch up with him then, and to meet Diane.

I have many great memories of all of us as kids on holidays at Grandma and Aunt Dee's house in Utica. I was just telling my husband about how Rick would play pracitcal jokes on us younger kids. (For years, I thought it was dangerous to even touch an electical outlet and I should never go near one -- Lynn and Laurie, do you remember that?) I loved those visits with the "Long Island cousins."  It's hard to know one of us is gone.

All our love, Liz, Mike and Mauricio

Laure, Lynn, Diane
We we’re certainly surprised and upset to hear Richard had a terminal illness.  To hear, a short time later, that he had passed away, was heart breaking.
We have not had any contact with Richard for quite a few years.  To see him in a crowd, hewould have been easy to spot.  A carbon copy of his father.
I first met “Ricky” when I held him in the vestibule of St. Stanislaus Church when he was baptized.  I was very pleased when Joan and Herb asked me too be his godfather.
I know a lot of people are saddened by his passing, especially his siblings, Laure and Lynn.  His wife, his partner, Diane will struggle without him. Johanna will certainly miss him, a very supportive parent.
Sue and I will keep him in our thoughts and prayers.
