Dad, taken from us too soon, as was Mam. We had a great upbringing, loved our family holidays, especially in Skegness. So proud of your sporting career, how hard you worked for us and what a caring, nurturing and generous man you were. So glad you got to travel the world, watch as much cricket as you could and listen to country music. Now your pain has gone, rest in peace and know we will not forget you ever. Love you xxx

Richard, you will be sadly missed by one & all. I'm sure there'll be many stories coming out of the wood work but one that makes me smile is a story Julie has told me about a Deputies Dinner & Dolly Parton!!! :-) It was a pleasure to have known you & be assured that Julie, John, Cheryl, Laura, Daniel & Anna Margaret will have great support from family & friends. R.I.P Mr B.xx

Richard took me under his wing at the age of 9 when I started scoring for wakefield St Michaels Cricket Club. He became a great friend not only to me but to my wife, Holly, and our children James and Luke. He always took time to come to Scarborough to visit us and this always involved a trip to Mother Hubbards Fish and Chip Restaurant. He took great interest in the Cricket and Football I played and he would often turn up with his camera. Although I didn't appreciate the Country Music (Yawn!!!) Many a parcel would turn up full of bookmarks, rubbers, rulers from around the world, the boys wardrobe is full of Football and Rugby Shirts from different places Richard had travelled to.

R.I.P. Richard your going to be sadly missed by all of us in Scarborough but you leave great memories.

Richard

You will be remembered always, your generosity and kindness to Rachel and Elizabeth will always be remembered. The girls used to look forward to your postcards from your travels around the world and wait for the box to arrive full of book marks, pens, pencils and t shirts!!

In later years your visits to Wakefield were planned around the junior fixtures at St Michaels, you always made sure you got in as many games as you could and sat on the bench with a big smile upon your face - always happy watching and encouraging the youngsters

We'll miss you Richard both in our family and at St Michaels

Love John and Ellen

So long Dad, Thanks for all your support over the years. Thanks for steering me towards school and teaching me how to play cricket and not rugby. Thanks for your support when moving around the world with work and coming to see us all - wherever we lived.
Love your son xxx

Goodbye Richard. I've known you since I was 13 years old, first as the dad of my best friend, then as my father in law. From the moment I had Laura and then Daniel I could not have asked for a better granddad for my kids. No matter which country we lived in the kids knew their granddad was always thinking of them. You will be missed by all that knew you, Rest in peace. Love Susan xx
