My Uncle Richard

October 20, 2011

Growing up as a kid I remember coming down to the Country and spending lots of time with Uncle Richard on the Herbert Farm. He would come to the house while I was there and show me around the farm. Most of the time he probably had to carry me when I was afraid of the cows or goats. LOL I spent many summers with Uncle Richard and Aunt Betty splashing in the pool and just enjoying their company. As I grew up I wanted to come down to the Country but never made it as my own life interrupted my plans. And I never did get a chance to say goodbye to him.

But I know that the memories he instilled in me run deep! Thank you for everything Uncle Richard.....

THE TRAVELER

August 31, 2011

DEAR FARTHER IN LAW (DAD) YOU WERE A VERY SPECIAL PERSON IN MY LIFE AS A CHILD DURING HARD TIMES WHEN THERE WAS BARELY FOOD ON THE TABLE. YOU WOULD COME TO THE RESCUE WITH YOUR LITTLE TRUCK WITH THE SIDINGS WHICH EVERYONE KNEW YOU BY AND SAVE THE DAY BY GIVING US KIDS SOMETHING TO EAT BREAD, CUPCAKES AND CANDIES OR WHATEVER YOU HAD. MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS REALLY LOVED YOU FOR THE KINDNESS THAT YOU SHOWED US. BUT, YOU NOT ONLY DID THAT FOR US BUT YOU DID THAT FOR OTHERS AS WELL THIS MAKES YOU A VERY SPECIAL PERSON IN THE SIGHT OF GOD.OFTEN I WOULD SEE YOU GOING UP AND DOWN THE ROAD TRAVELING THE HIGHWAYS TO FREDERICK, MD, WASHINGTON, D.C AND ALL OVER THE STATE OF MARYLAND YOU WERE DEFINITELY A TRAVELER WHO HAD SO MUCH WORK TO DO AND SO LITTLE TIME TO GET IT DONE.DAD YOU SERVED GOD WELL AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MISSED AND LOVED BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN.
