Over 41 years ago Richard and I were partners - in the wedding party of his brother and my sister. I was a loud, brash, impulsive 20 year old, he was, well, Richard.  He humored me well over that steamy July weekend and we bonded over our shared confidence that we were shepherding  a young love affair into a life-long partnership.
