Richard Michael Shields, Sr. 71 of Pelham, Alabama passed away on February 18, 2022 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabama.  Mike was born on August 29, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama to Vincent Gerald and Elizabeth Leona Shields.  He graduated from Fairfield High School in 1968. He served seven years in the Air Force Reserves and was a member of the American Legion. He retired from US Steel after 42 years.  Mike loved God, his family, Auburn football, tennis, and going to the beach.  In lieu of flowers please make donations to American Legion post 911 or Disabled Veterans.  The family is grateful for the Pelham Fire Station number five and the cardiac unit of Shelby Baptist Medical Hospital for the tremendous care they provided.  Graveside Service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South on February 28, 2022  at 1:00PM.
