Richard Martin Dames, 83, a longtime resident of Granville County passed away Friday, July 20, 2018 at Universal Healthcare in Oxford.
He was a native of Hudson County, NJ and was the son of the late John Daniel Dames and Henrietta Brandon Dames. Richard was of the Baptist faith and retired from the Air Force and Army after twenty-seven years of service.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 24, 2018 at Meadowview Memorial Park by Rev. Tony Broome.
He is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Angelica Dames of the home; three daughters, Karan Richardson (Boyd), Joy Lynch (Phil) and Scarlet Davis; a sister, Elizabeth Fonker (Ed) of Neptune, N.J. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
