Passed away on June 9, 2014 in LONDON, Barnes, United Kingdom
This memorial website was created in memory of our loved one, Richard Mayall, 56 years old, born on March 7, 1958, and passed away on June 9, 2014. We will remember him forever.
Another year gone by and as it stands Rik i am rather glad you were saved from the ghastly pandemic down here . But your humour and wit about it would be a very welcome distraction that is for sure. Still very much loved n remembered x
Rik. You were probably the biggest influence on my sense of humour as a kid. From watching The Young Ones on a continuous loop to doing impressions in the playground. As I grew up I continued to have a soft spot for you. You were a remarkable talent and I still can't believe you are gone. Rest easy Rik. xx
This time last year I was sat in the chemist. I glanced to the silent TV, saw the news flash. Rik was dead. I'm not a public person. But I shouted out your name! Horrified you'd been taken. The fondness and love I've had for you all the years, are shared by so many. Why? Because you are our poet. A true, real life force. We were all so blessed you shared you. Keep us laughing and smiling Sir Rik.
You're my absolute hero. You made me want to be a writer-performer, which I had been indecisive about for 5 years(I know!!). I'm a teenaged student yet, but I'll try my best. Thank you for your hard work....we love you always! Be happy, Rik!
U always made me laugh and u still do im seeing more and more things u starred in, n sometimes its hard to watch them without the realisation u r gone. But i try to forget that cause u make me laugh so much. Thank You Rik xx
Never met you Rik but loved all your work. You were unique and irreplaceable, my thoughts are with your dear family at this difficult time. 'Forever a Young One' xxx
God bless you Rik, I never had the chance of knowing you, boy I wish I had ! You weren't just funny, you were amazing. Much love and a huge bucket of respect. R.I.P.
I was going to write a really long winded ode to the People's Poet, however I will go with "god bless you Rik, you made millions cry with laughter and brought joy to all".
I never met Rik although I would have loved to have done so and sadly never will now, however, he will be forever in my thoughts and heart. There will never be another shining star such as Richard Michael Mayall, god bless to him and his lovely family, he was taken way too soon x
When God took you,he took a huge piece of me,Say Hi to my mum,and keep her laughing until I join you both.Earth will never be the same without you.We all miss you,we promise to keep your spirit alive down here, and if your family needs us,we will be there. We all love and miss you <3 man hugs to a fantastic man.
Rik, I miss you, what else can I say. I wish you didn't have to leave us so soon, but I guess your work here on earth was done. I wish I had got to meet you, but I'm sure we will one day in the clouds. Thanks for the laughter, love always you pan global phenomenon xxx
