Dear Richard, I can't believe we're here another year on, still missing you, the man and King you should have been.
We'll never forget you and the brave men who met their deaths fighting alongside you on this day in 1485.
One day we will clear your name and people will remember you the way they should - the greatest and best King England never had.

Remembering Richard III, last true king of England, who died fighting valiantly 'in the thickest press of his enemies'. He would have been our greatest king. Loyaulté me lie.

We remember that on this day 536 years ago, the great King Richard lll fell in battle. The anointed King, honourable, true and brave, you fought and almost achieved your goal, to kill the usurper Richmond. You died as you lived, King of all England, and would have gone on to be one of England's greatest ever Kings, had you not been cut down and disposed of in so cruel and callous a way. I will remember you forever, and will always do my utmost to clear your name that has now been maligned for centuries. One day the truth will be known to all. Loyaulte Me Lie.

May you rest in eternal peace, knowing we will not rest until we have cleared your name of the unjust calumny attached to it over these centuries. We will proclaim your good name from the rooftops until everyone is aware of your true good lordship and fair judgments.

I light this candle to celebrate the day of your birth, I'll never forget you. I wholeheartedly wish you'd lived long enough to show what kind of King you would have become, had you not been so piteously slain on the battlefield at Bosworth, on that fateful day - August 22nd 1485. Our great King Richard would have been a wonderful king if only he'd had the time to prove it. Instead, he was cut down before his time at the Battle of Bosworth Field. People now don't realise what a debt is owed to him, especially for the laws of justice he put in place. We will never let him be forgotten, and hope one day to clear his name. Loyaulte Me Lie

King Richard was a noble, brave and just ruler. He has been maligned through the centuries by rumor spread by those who, tragically, murdered him at Bosworth Field on August 22, 1485. I have the deepest regard and admiration for Good King Richard and will always remember him with all my love. I am deeply sorry he did not get to live his full lifetime and enjoy the happiness he deserved.
