He was born Dec 6, 1950, to Richard “Dick” Schweers and Carol (Swanson) Schweers at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. He attend grade school in rural Pender before moving to Beemer 1966 and graduated from Beemer Public High School in 1969. A musician by trade, Rick played for bands in the Midwest such as County Classics, Shiloh, Sue Mages Band, Ron James and the Hard Times. In 1982, Rick moved to Wichita and played for The Nite Classik’s Band and Catfish Cowboys
