Good by Cycle...

October 12, 2019
When I was a young boy, there was this guy who lived next door. He was larger than life to me. Cooler than cool. Tough as they come, and was always kind to me. He was always working on his car or motorcycle, or throwing sticks in the river for his dogs.
My first real memory of Rich (Cycle) was one summer all the kids in the neighborhood had cool bikes. 10 speeds, bmx.. and I had a regular beach cruiser kind of bike. I really wanted a 10 speed... so, Rich spent a whole day tearing my bike apart, painting it black, clanging the seat and putting 10 speed handlebars on it. He made sure I had a cool bike. as I grew up, and over the years into adulthood, he wove through my life in so many important ways, always looking out for me and showing up on the spot whenever I needed him. No questions asked.... looking back,, there were so many times I called him because I didn’t know who else to call, and he always showed up.... so many good Rich stories over the years. I always tell them with a smile on my face ,and feeling proud of the way he treated me. As the years went by and life moved on. We didn’t see each other as often as we should have. (My fault) But he was and will always be an important part of my past. I’ll never be able to thank Him or Bobbie for the kindness they gave my family over the years. It truly is a blessing.
you will be missed Cycle..
