Richard Winston Wheeler, 90, a longtime resident of Granville County, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 at Duke Regional Hospital. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, a member of Franklin County Masonic Lodge and was a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Bertha Wheeler.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 28, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church by Rev. Carl E. Hunter. Entombment will follow the service at Fairview Memorial Cemetery in Franklinton, NC.

Visitation will be held, prior to the service, from 12:30 to 2:00 PM at the church and at other times at the home.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Willie Gray Wheeler of the home, three sons, Mike Wheeler (Toni Anne) of Butner, Gary Wheeler (Polly) of Alexandria, Va. And Steven Wheeler of Franklinton, a daughter, Tamara Wheeler of Franklinton, two grandchildren, Maxwell Vann Wheeler and Jessica Nicole Wheeler. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Mangum and Louise Chambers.
