Summing up Pa Richardson’s life, I keep coming back to one thought. Never will you meet a man who more faithfully lived his values. He believed in himself no matter where he was. I vividly remember his trip to the United States where he was very upset learn that there wasn’t an Elati Bebum branch in the U.S.
Pa Richardson was a teacher of all things. His method was full of swag. He taught by example. At any age, when faced with an ethical dilemma, after reflection, study, or even rationalization.
I remember while in Valentine’s living room, Pa immediately picked up a pen and a paper and handed me to write down the names and phone numbers of all ebum kids in the U.S. As soon as I did the assignment, he picked up the phone and started making calls. The very next Saturday, we had at least 50 ebum children cramped in Vally’s small apartment. And that is how Elati-Bebum was born with the election of an executive headed by Brother Eyabi Sunny.
Unfortunately, Elati Bebum in the U.S has remained a shadow of what Papa envisaged. It is in this regard that we will re-emerge Elati Bebum U.S.A in honor of PAPA RICHARDSON.

My Dad and personal friend i still stand in disbelief and shock. I strongly believe you are still around as we mourn.
I see you trying to understand what is going on but the more closer you approach the more wider and further away we seem to go.
oh ma God! It is indeed finished for indeed i see the center can really no more hold.
Papa you know me in that whole house best therefore you alone would tell at this juncture how heavy ma heart is.
NOT EVEN WORDS CAN EXPRESS WHAT I FEEL:
Papa I will forever love and miss you.
Adieu Papa

"A LION HAS FALLEN"

My number 1 Man, Papa Richardson Eyabi.
Its really hard for me to acknowledge the fact that you are gone forever. I will never again hear your voice shout "MACEYABI"
Is it Gods will to separate you from us so early?
I strongly believe you are in a much better world where Mann knows no pain and sickness. Papa your Legacy lives on forever.
I LOVE AND WILL MISS YOU,

                 RIP PAPA

Whether you knew him, as a husband, Papa, big Papa, bother, uncle, or friend, you probably had the same level of appreciation for him that I did.
Big Papa was a great man. When I think about him the words that come to mind are: Army General, strict, caring, jovial, great storyteller, politician and family man. These are just a few words that come to mind, but it is impossible to summarize how great a person he was in words.
My earliest memories of time spent with my grandfather are visiting his house in Kumba during Christmas holidays and playing in the poultry behind the house in Kumba. My siblings and I would visit with big mami and Big Papa during holidays and He would tell us these legends and tales about ancestors then, I really didn’t understand the caliber of the type of man He was, but looking back it was really wonderful how much attention he gave us.
As my siblings and I grew older and migrated to the US, we saw him less and less. Big Papa was very educated, a very astute businessman and he was passionate about ALL the causes that He championed. He was a rock to the people who were honored to know him, He was a Pillar of wisdom in his community.
I am going to miss Big Papa’s wisdom and love. One day in the future we will meet again in heaven. Until then I will pass your wisdom down to my children and future grandchildren. I want to thank you for being such as wonderful person to me, your family and friends. We will all miss you and love you always.
