Rick Hymes, 60, of Dayton Ohio, passed away on July 18th, 2023. Rick, fondly know as Pops, was born on February 15th, 1963, in West Virginia. He was a highly skilled mechanic and well loved by all his customers. He enjoyed cars, guns, fishing, music, dancing, talking about his time in the service, and spending time with family. Rick fought his battle against several illnesses these last few years. Despite spending much time in and out of the hospital, he never lost his sense of humor. He had a great ability to make others smile. He will be missed dearly. He was preceded in death by his mother Deloris “Twig” Hymes. He is survived by his daughter Cara Hymes (Colt Black), his son Collin Hymes (Kayla Brooks), his step-son Mark Lawson, his grandchildren Zara Goings, Maycyn-Joe Black, Aurora Black, Devon Hawkins, Michael Brooks, and Aliecia Brooks. He is also survived by life-long family/friends Steve Overholser, Tracy Overholser-Markin, and their mother Donna Overholser, as well as many friends. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday August 6th, 2023 at Tawawa Park (Ferguson Circle Shelter) Sidney, Ohio. Visitation will begin at 2pm.
