For I know that you are mine...
My own sweet Valentine.
Happy Valentine's Day <3
They say that time heals all wounds. Well... it's been almost three years since we lost Ricky and it seems like it was yesterday to me.
The four seasons have come and gone. Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, special days, and all the "ordinary days". He's watched them all from above-- sometimes from closer than you think.
Grief takes as long as it takes. It doesn't go away, it just changes. If I close my eyes I can still see him coming in the back door after a long day at work. There were too many long days. Or laughing with friends....playing cards or pool. Watching sports with his pals. Or sharing a special time with Julie----they had lots of special times. He was there for her when she needed a friend, a pal, someone to hang with on Saturday mornings.
Ricky changed my life and for that I will be eternally grateful. I'm glad his pain has passed and I will keep him in my heart until we meet again. If you love somebody enough, you can still hear the laughter after they're gone.....
Awesome successful season for the Sox and they are headed to the World Series....I'm sure you are smiling down on them and giving a big Whaaaahoo!! But today it's all about the Pats..XOX
I think of Ricky everytime i play pool. He was my clutch, if i didn't know what to do he would say I'll play them. Or if someone was losing he would say"quit f*@#ing around". He was the best co captain I ever had, there surely is'nt anyone who can compare to that kind of teammate. Even though he had to get up early the next day he would come home and take a nap just so he could play on the pool team. Even though he was the hardest person to ever to convince to play in the APA. Certain people remember those games we played I know I do everytime I win against someone he used to love to beat!! Missing my all time favorite team member, friend, and stepdad. love jo:)
The music of your voice....
Just makes my heart rejoice.
For I know that you are mine...
My own sweet
Valentine....Happy Valentine's Day !
