This website was created to honor Robert Kreikemeier for his service to our country, as part of the Veterans Memory Park in Dodge, NE.
Robert Kreikemeier was born December 13th, 1932 in rural West Point to Alois and Matilda (Klitz) Kreikemeier. He attended St. Boniface Catholic School at Monterey. On January 21st, 1953 he married Dorothy Reznicek in Dodge.
After their marriage, he entered the Army and served for two years from March 1953 to March 1955 during the Korean War as a radar operator in Illinois. After returning from duty, he managed the family farm in the Monterey area and was a livestock feeder. The Kreikemeiers moved to Dodge in 1992.
He was past 4-H leader of the Monterey Livestock Club; past member of the Cuming County Cattle Feeders Assn, the Nebraska Feeders Assn, and the National Cattle Buyers Assn. He was a former director of the Cooperative Supply of Dodge; past president of the Central Catholic High School of West Point School Board; past trustee and member of the Parish Council at St. Boniface Catholic Church, in addition to serving as a bingo caller, usher and lector at both St. Boniface and St. Wenceslaus Church in Dodge; a 4th Degree Knight in the Knights of Columbus in West Point; a member and past commander of American Legion Post 122 in Dodge; director of the German Mutual Life Insurance Co.; and past member of the Cuming County Agricultural Society.
Robert's family includes his wife Dorothy and 11 children and 35 grandchildren:

Jeffrey died 4 days after birth from a heart defect

Keith married Jodi Hehnke (Micah, Tatem, Isaac)
Kirk married Meg McCarthy (Sarah, Billy, Joe)
Chuck married Kaye Haerther (Alek, Dayne, Brea)
Robert's brothers are David (and Betty) Kreikemeier and Kenny (and Mary) Kreikemeier and a sister Mary Ann (and Wendell) Emanuel.
Robert died February 12th, 1998 and was buried in St Boniface Cemetery at Monterey.
