His Life

Robert (BOB) Gibson was born in Kentucky in 1931. In the 1950's he served his country in the Airforce. After his service he was an Avid race car driver he loved all race cars but his favorite were Sprint Cars, he went on to race Sprint Cars and won several Trophys between 1956 and 1959, he continued to race at Ascot where he loved to run his cars. He then joined the operators engineers in 1964 as a heavy equipment operator and was well known and loved by his co-workers as they called him "The Legend" He then retired from the operators engineers in 1995. Bob continued to enjoy his retirement with working on not only his own sprint cars but helped many other sprint car owners to rebuild and restore their sprint cars. Bob had a father in indiana named Lou Morgan who took him and helped him become the great sprint car driver he was. Bob's favorite things were ofcourse Nascar, smoking cigars, having a big steak to eat, he loved to dance and sing his favorite country singer was Marty Robbins, and Bob loved to tell and hear a good joke, he loved to eat out at his favorite restaurants and just loved life and always said "your age is just a number if your mind is young so you will be"  Robert passed away after his couragious fight with cancer he died peacefully with family by his side on 6-17-17. Robert Gibson is survived by his 2 children, daughter, Keely Jo Gibson of Yucaipa Ca, son, Randal Aric Gibson of San Bernardino Ca, Son in law George of Yucaipa Ca, 2 Grandchildren, Sierra may Gibson, Gene Michael Mayhew, 2 great grandchildren many nieces and nephews, and his best friend and sprint car buddy,Terry Kawell of Reche Canyon..You are forever in our hearts My loving Dad, Grandpa, and Friend:) Rest in Peace.
