Let the memory of Robert be with us forever

Robert Nicholas Brachle was born July 3, 1937 in Petersburg to Carl Joseph and Laura Mathie (Daniels) Brachle. He grew up in the Petersburg area, attending country school and St. John the Baptist Catholic School. On June 18, 1957, Bob married LaVonne 'Bonnie' Cornwell at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Albion. The couple farmed and milked 150 Holsteins at Petersburg for 25 years. In 1982, they moved to West Point, where Bob worked for Archer Petroleum as district manager and D.V. Industries, until retiring in 2000. Bob was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Third Degree Knights of Columbus, Elkhorn Valley Good Sam Camping Club, Toastmasters, and Brachle Family Band. Bob helped with Boy Scouts, and the couple wintered in Texas and were camp hosts for Nebraska State Game and Parks. Bob enjoyed entertaining, and his varied interests included playing bass guitar, Intarsia wood working, and fishing at Ikes. Survivors include his wife Bonnie of West Point; daughter Debra (Ernie Cita) Brachle of David City; sons Daniel (Rhonda) of Omaha, David (Cheryll) of Omaha, Timothy (Doris) of Emmet, William (Arnice) of Lindsey, Benjamin (Emily) of Fremont, and Aaron (Vanessa Galenzoga) of Belleville, IL; sisters Genevieve (Don) Geyer of Norfolk and Darlene (Clayton) Dozler of Elgin; sister-in-law Maxine Brachle of Norfolk; 22 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and brother Richard.

"It's hard to understand why people are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing Robert was as special part of a well-lived life.  Sorrow is a fleeting emotion, but love is infinite.  Take comfort--those who love will be reunited in eternity.  Bonnie, my thoughts, my heart, and my love are with you.  I hope you're doing well.  Do tell!  There are exactly 86,400 seconds in this special day.  Enjoy every one.

Your Toastmaster Buddy,

Charlotte Endorf"
