A native of Omega, GA., Mr. Brinson was the son of the late Charlie and Mary Smith Brinson.

A Columbus resident since 1954, he retired from the U.S. Army after over 22 years of service that include the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. A devoted member of M.L. Harris United Methodist Church, he was a member of the United Methodist Men Ministry, served as Sunday School Superintendent for over 22 years, member of the Board of Trustees and the Usher/Greeters Ministry.

Mr. Brinson also retired as a Shipping/Receiving Clerk at J.C. Penney's Department Store. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley R. Brinson and four siblings, Charlie Brinson, Frank Brinson, Catherine Byrd and Rosa Powers.

Surviving are a devoted wife of 63 years, Mrs. Edna Ruth Brinson; two daughters, Barbara Ann Brinson-Hall and Samira Dawn Brinson-Smith(Wayne); three grandchildren, Dr. Shawnte Hall-Kraft(Alfonso Kraft, Esq), Sharece Nicole O'Neal(Jared) and Zack Bruce Hall II; three great grandchildren, Malkam, Mason and Makayla Kraft; two brothers, Willie C. Brinson(Alma) and Cliff Brinson(Johnnie); one sister, Beatrice Jackson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.
