Robert Nello Holt, 74, a resident of 107 Moss Road, Creedmoor, North Carolina, passed away Friday, September 23, 2011 at Hock Family Pavilion in Durham.
A native of Person County, the son of the late Robert Holt. He was of the Methodist faith and retired from Murdoch Center as a Recreation Therapist.
Funeral Services will be conducted 3:00 PM, Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the Eakes Funeral Chapel in Creedmoor by Rev. Jim McSwain. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Gardens.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Gloria Jean Holt of the home, his mother, Ruth Holt Bryant of Leasburg, a son, Michael C. Holt of Oxford, two sisters, Marion Oakley and Sheila Holt, both of Roxboro, a brother, Richard Holt of Danville, Virginia and a grandson.
Visitation will be held 1:30 – 3:00 PM Sunday, September 25, 2011 in the Eakes Funeral Home in Creedmoor prior to the funeral service.
Flowers are acceptable or memorials may be made to Duke Homecare & Hospice, 120 Providence Road, Suite 200, Chapel Hill, North Carolina 27514.

My mom, Marion Oakley, passed away on 7/17/21. She was Bobby's sister. Bobby's death was hard for her. My mom wasn't sick long which was good. When the doctors discussed with us her prognosis, she held up her index finger and said she was ready to be with Bobby and Sheila (her sister who had also passed away). That definitely was hard to hear but made our decisions a little easier. Rest in peace to all three: Bobby, Marion and Sheila!

9 years ago today my Dad went home to the beautiful place called heaven. I'm sure he is doing great deeds for people as he did here on earth. We miss you Dad. Love you!

It has been 8 years today that heaven received one of the greatest people I know. My Dad was such a generous man and did so much for people. God knew his work was done and needed him in heaven to keep doing good for everyone. As I get older I see myself being more and more like him. Love you and miss you Dad.

Things are not the same with out dad around. He kept things going with the family. Always making people laugh or there to lend a hand. What a great role model he was. I miss him everyday.

This has been a short year for some and a long one for others. Whether it is a long one or a short one Bobby will always be missed by his family and friends. Just don't seem real at times when I think about it. God bless Bobby's family now and always.
