Remembering and Honoring Robert J Likowski

July 11, 2014

Mr. Robert J. Likowski (Uncle Bobby), 85, died Monday, July 7, 2014, in the comfort of his home.

Uncle Bobby was viewed and honored by the entire family at  the Kowalski Funeral Home, Linden, NJ. A funeral prayer service by Reverend Danik was offered at the funeral home, followed by the burial in the family plot in St. Gertrude’s Cemetery, Colonia.

Uncle Bobby, one of ten children, was born in Elizabeth, NJ, to Josephine Przichodzon Likowski Nelson and John Likowski.

After living in the Union County area for a time, he moved to Mt. Laurel and has resided in that area since the 1960’s.

Uncle Bobby was a general manager of customer and VIP services for United Airlines, in Newark, NJ and Philadelphia, Pa., for over 30 years, retiring in 1993.

A veteran of the Korean War, Uncle Bobby served in the U.S. Army and he was a life member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars.

Uncle Bobby had many passions in his life; among them was his love of traveling around the world, boating, interior decorating and especially his devotion to the many Poodles and Great Dane dogs that he raised over the years.

In addition to his parents, Uncle Bobby was also predeceased by his step-father, Ingvald Nelson, his four brothers, John, Henry, Edward and Theodore Likowski, his five sisters, Rose Dybowski, Betty Chrzanowski-Ogonowski, Dorothy Kamienski, Mary Castoral and Veronica Strupaitis and his two companions, Walter and Jim.

In the later part of his life, Uncle Bobby was cared for by his great nephew, Jason J. Pucylowski and his two nieces, Maria Garrison and Josephine Jackson. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, including his very dear friend, Linda DeLamar.

Uncle Bobby was well liked by everyone, was a great person, family man and a great  patriot. Thank you for all the memories. You will always be in our hearts and thoughts.
