i worked for him in Panama in what began as Detachment 3 and later the 605th ACS. He was a commander i would have followed anywhere, anytime, anyplace. My wife really Appreciated the way he took care ofallthe wives in the unit while we were off somewhere on a mission. RIP Colonel!

I am saddened to hear of the death of COL. GLEASON. What a wonderful man, one that will be sorely missed by family and by those of us who had the honor of serving with him. I was one of his AIR COMMANDOS while with the 605th In Panama (1963--65). I considered it an honor then to serve under his command, and I still consider that to be a highlight of my life. He has exchanged his Air Force wings for those of an angel.

Never met or served with your Father. But am so sorry to see him, and his peers, leave us.  You must be extremely proud of his accomplishments and his dedication to our Country.

I offer a belated, Thank You Sir, to him, and know that he has joined your Mom in the hereafter...certainly a better place.

Deepest Regards.

Col. Gleason was a long standing member of the Thailand Laos Cambodia Brotherhood since its inception in 1999. Although I never met him personally we spoke on the phone several times at length about our current humanitarian aid to the children in Southeast Asia and the similar projects which he undertook at orphanages during the war. Bob was that rare combination of leader, warrior and humanitarian who inspired us all. Rest easy Bob with a job well done and a life well lived. Hand Salute!
