Robert L. “Yard Dog” Lawrence Jr. died unexpectedly in his home on July 15, 2018 in Dayton, Ohio at the age of 70.

Robert was born on January 1, 1948 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Dorothy Barnhill and Robert Lawrence Sr. Robert was a great man and a loving individual. He was a person willing to give his last.

He was a dedicated worker in any position he was given. Robert was accomplished at building maintenance repair. He also had a passion to create beautiful sketches and designing jewelry. He was a generous, loving and dedicated individual who was passionate about helping anyone who needed it. He was an active and dedicated employee at Northlake Hill Apartments in Dayton, Ohio.

He is preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Barnhill and his father Robert Lawrence Sr. Robert is survived by his siblings Clarence Parks Sr (Janice) of Raleigh, North Carolina; Owen Parks (Diane); Bettie Parks of Dayton, Ohio and Angela Parks of Terre Haute, Indiana; Nieces Rachel Parks-Bowers, and Nicole Parks; nephews Robert E. Parks, and Clarence Parks Jr; Childhood friends Todd Harrison, Robert Warren Wilson, David Jones, Charles Kent and Terry Cragg. As well as a host of relatives and friends.

A celebration of his life is scheduled for 12:00pm on Friday July 20, 2018 at Zion Temple Church of God in Christ, 40 Crown Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45417, viewing will be at 11:00am until service time. Elder George L. Carter Sr. will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Robert's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Zion Temple COGIC.
